Get On My Level 2023 was so GOOD. Easily one of the most hype Top 8's yet, with some of the best matchups I've seen in a while. Here's my reaction to some of the best sets in top 8 including players like Sparg0, Riddles, Tweek, Light, Sonix, and more.

See the difference between sonix and most other sonic players is that he doesn’t need to rely on only the B button to win as sonic. Sonix actually goes for hype combos. Yes he still uses the B button just as every other player does with every character but he doesn’t solely rely on it

Sad we barely got to see most of it, but I'm happy Sonix won in a dominant fashion. Sets we're not even a drag. He ended a lot of his streamed sets faster than usual. That's probably how he should play moving forward.

MU dependent, Rob and Falco can get ran over. Aegis is usually a slower MU with the Mythra trying to swat the fly but I think it goes faster due to how much those two have played.

@@jaydenhohman2590 Depends on the MU. Some chars you gotta camp, some you cant really camp or playing aggressive is fine. Sonix is good partially because he knows exactly how to mix up slow and fast play just right to give people the hardest time.

ah yes, l'm sure that will work out exactly as you envision it since everyone has the exact same definition of what characters are interesting/fun to watch. That's such an objective measure that it's basically inherently obvious which characters would be allowed and which ones wouldnt be, and there would be no disagreements about it ever especially not by you :)

The only players I care to watch don’t compete anymore (Nairo/Marss) so honestly these tournaments just don’t hit the same whatsoever. Not to mention it’s all the same carried/privileged characters reaching finals every single time cause this game is unbalanced as f*ck and none of the “top players” have the balls to play anyone under top 10 in the tier list. The only sets I watch anymore are chunkykongs cause homies elevating the character like every days a Monday. Force a random tournament where they simply can’t play their mains and I’ll be impressed if there’s even a semblance of schmoovement to be seen

Sonix was the best player by far at GOML, his sets had the cleanest execution. Way better matches than Tweek Riddles or Light Sparg0

Every time I see someone say that Aegis is #1 I just can't see it. They're REALLY good, but in a meta where every pro is excellent at ledge guarding, they struggle every time they get knocked offstage since their recovery path is so predictable. The Spargo vs Sonix set really showcased how little they can do against a character with good ledge options.
