So happy to see Kola back. Insane gameplay. Also, couple reasons I think Sparg0 went Aegis here: 1. To warm up for Sonix (most likely reason) 2. According to Light in an episode of Light’s Out, Sparg0 was getting bodied by Kola in friendlies at SSC. I’m wondering if he was playing Cloud there, so he decided to switch things up for this match.

What are his weaknesses aside from his recovery (which btw is far from being the worst in the game)?

Probably his lack of safe pressure (relative to the best characters like Sonic and GnW). His slow air drift means jumping in is a commitment and approaching aerials are very telegraphed. Everyone is better at parrying, Roy is very parry-able. Also he’s not as safe on shield as his frame data suggests because his approaching tools like nair and fair are also his combo tools which means they are always kind of stale OP is capping tho Roy is still top 15 easy maybe top 10.

@@pothos489 he lacks safe presure? He had one of the best approaching tools in the game with down tilt. I do agree Roy has to commit more when he jumps in cause he lacks air accel. Yeah the parry system is something that Roy struggles with, but can't that be said for every character? If you space roys fair most characters can't even punish it on pary. He also has the mix up to land with side B. I feel like roy may not be as safe as his frame data suggests but still more than safe enough. Even if every move in roys kit is max staled fair will never be more than - 8, Nair will never be more than - 9, up air - 9 and Bair - 10. And that's the worst case scenario assuming everything is Max staled. If you space those moves it's extremely difficult to punish, like I said fair is hard to punish even on parry. That's why I think it doesn't matter that toys aerials are telegraphed, he doesn't have to approach from the air cause his ground game is really solid with dtilt and jab.
