Good to see Martha and Motown legends Mickey, Smokey, Stevie and Berry in such good health! The little banter between Miss Reeves and her former boss was especially nice to watch. And Berry's "forced" exit - so funny! Martha truly deserved this day! But where were her Vandellas? Even the Supremes were recognized despite their superstar.

The ⭐ has Martha's Name, the Original Vandellas were Rosalind Ashford and Betty Kelly. The Group was formed by Friends Annette Beard, Rosalind Ashford and Gloria Williams, Martha joined later and became the Lead Singer. Her 2 Younger Sisters Lois and Delphine joined the Group later and they disbanded in 1972.

Martha's sister Lois replaced Betty and while Sandra Tiley replaced Rosalind. They disbanded in 1972. In 1989, Martha, Annette and Rosalind reunited and performed together while Martha performed with her sisters Lois and Delphine on certain dates. Now Martha performs with her sisters.

Yeah I think this Star is long overdue for Martha Reeves. The SAD part about it is that (as much fame and fortune that Martha Reeves contributed to Motown, Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson and all other Writers, Producers and Executives at Motown) SHE DIDN'T HAVE 55,000 TO PAY FOR THAT STAR AND FANS HAD TO STEP IN AND PUT UP THE FUNDS FOR MARTHA REEVES TO GET HER STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME. If Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Melvin Franklin of The Temptations and other Rich Black Artist had put just a $100 each, Martba could have had her star on the Walk of Fame years ago. It's a Crying and Embarrassing shame the way we black people treat each other and have no shame about it. Apparently there's no pension to draw from Motown So can she get a Mere $55,000 from😤 "D"

In all fairness, rarely do the recipients (stars) actually pay the $55k - whether the "star" does or doesn't have the funds. It's usually paid by a record label, movie studio, management firm, or some other professional association within the entertainment industry. In cases of much older "stars" who may have retired or their careers no longer require any of the associations listed above, funding is usually raised (such was the case with Martha). It was down to the wire and looking questionable as to whether the funding would materialize, but thankfully it all worked out. In any case, your point is well taken - as it didn't have to get down to the wire. Those you listed could have easily contributed and wrapped this up early on.
