We Armenians also have braid - shaped Easter bread called Katnahunts, which means Milk kneaded. So glad to see common things with Greeks 🇦🇲🇬🇷

I'm sure it will taste great, but what makes tsureki psecial is the addition of machlepi (mahleb) and mastic gum. Both these aromatics give the bread a unique, fragrant yeasty flavor.

The Greek Easter bread also includes Mahlap and Mastic Gum to it to give it it's really unique and traditional Greek flavor. I was taught how to make this bread passed down from my Yiayia. I appreciate you explaining the representation of the red died egg.

Mastic? Is your grandmother from Chios, by any chance? It's not a thing for us in the Peloponnese.

I can't find fresh yeast, brewer's yeast or baker's yeast. I'm going to have to use what I have, Active Dry Yeast. Since they come in packets, just how many packets do I use?

If you can’t find mahleb, my mom used finely ground mastic (masticha)….

this is not the right recipe for tsoureki. is a variation of the recipe. the right recipe contains 3 essential herbs, plenty of sugar, fresh butter, fresh milk (not only water), and whole eggs, not just the yolk. I am from Greece and I make tsoureki every year at Easter. I do not know where you found the recipe shown in the video, but it is not the original.

Martha, how can I get my money back, for my purchase of your overpriced, appetizers size frozen “meals?” Shame on you , Martha!! False advertising and cheating ! Do u not have enough money!?!?

Martha, Easter Bread is not a greek bread. It is this totally 100% Armenian not greek. it is ironic that you do not want to give credit to Armenians. That's OK just remember pretty much everything you touch is made by Armenians. From the MRI to the matches.
