Martin is the best drummer for cradle of filth the guys can nail all cradles old songs
@SuperDave7295 жыл бұрын
Martin's been a CoF fan since their old school material. Dani wrote in the booklet for Cruelty And The Beast: Re-Mistressed that he consulted Martin throughout the remixing and remastering of CATB and that when Martin was younger he and some of his buddies hung out below Elizabeth Bathory's castle listening to CATB.

Great that he recognises Nick's drumming on this track was a freaking masterpiece of metal drumming and doesn't screw around with it beyond some additional cymbal fills. Great job

These old drum cams are rad and Marthus proved he was the man back then and still to this very day and how not to miss Caz Campbell playing the keyboard and singing the backing vocals. Gosh, she was perfect for Cradle...

You're the MAN!! Not only your druming skills are beyond amazing but you also show how much good taste and respect you have for Nicholas Barker's work in COF, by playing this song almost exactly the same way like he did, the only way this song is meant to be played,imo. Respect.

EXCELLENT work on this. I'm assuming that Martin listened to the "be quick or be dead" version of this on the Cradle to Enslave EP. As much as I love Nick Barker, Martin performed this VERY well. I saw COF in Sydney a few months ago, and Martin is a very solid drummer. Martin would be the best drummer for COF besides Nick

dude we are talking for a 15 yo song here not a 2013 song , Marthus is an extreme Musician and trust me those rhythms even for him are a hard time. Try playing for 2 hours that fast and then judge. COF is a multi-dimensional band and for sure the rhythms are not repetitive..

something about his accent style is annoying to me.
@JaimeNoro9 жыл бұрын
John Arnold Me too. Something about his over the top cymbal work. Just too much. Cymbals are great to accentuate and highlight key moments. His trivializes its use, even when compared to Barker. Nevertheless, he's a great drummer.
@behindthen0thing9 жыл бұрын
Jaime Noro yeah, i have zero issues with barkers drumming, it's an inspiration. This guy is obviously very good, but I don't care for his cymbal accents and his style of tom fills. idk it just kinda rubs me the wrong way.
@YTPNoob9 жыл бұрын
+John Arnold To each their own, man. Personally, I love the tight cymbal work and machine-gun toms, but that's just me. I think it's unique and brings its own style to the table. If Dani wanted someone who sounded like Nick Barker, he wouldn't have gotten rid of Nick Barker.
@JaimeNoro9 жыл бұрын
+YTPNoob I don't think it was that simple dude. I heard there was some bad blood flowing between them. Adrian, for instance, also a great drummer. But mor of a thrash/death style drummer, I think. Barker was different, he had a very unorthodox yet very musical approach to his drumming, especially during his time with CoF. But that's just me.
@YTPNoob9 жыл бұрын
Jaime Noro Fair enough. Seldom do Cradle members leave on good terms with Dani.
@tomknokkel9 жыл бұрын
He has stamina for years, but Nicholas Barker ran out of breath coz he was sooooo fat, Martin Marthus Skaroupka is the king of drumming in Cradle of Filth and he can play all the old songs
