Lyoto Machida has to be Jon Jones' top finish on the brutality scale. He choked him out cold, then dropped him like a corpse without even looking back. Absolutely ruthless.
@rlclark5022 күн бұрын
Lyoto had some good exchanges, standing, though. The entirety of Jones vs. Shogun was just 3 rounds of Jones hitting Shogun from every angle, in the clinch, standing, from top position etc. I don't think Shogun had one single offensive moment in that entire fight. I remember when Jones had beat Stephan Bonner and every more difficult opponent they gave him he just ran through: Hamill, Matyushenko, and then Bader. When he destroyed Ryan Bader, that's when I knew he'd take the belt, eventually. Then I thought he might lose a close fight to Shogun or squeeze out a win when Rashad Evans dropped out and Jones replaced Rashad. I thought he might not be ready for that level of fight. But I never, ever expected him to put a beating on Shogun that was worse than all his previous fights put together. That was one of the most one-sided fights I have ever seen, only fight that comes close is like Nate Diaz vs Donald Cerrone or Gaethje vs. Tony Ferguson.

9:42 Brandon Vera has to be #1. Jones put a beating on Shogun and choked out Lyoto, but what you don't see from these clips is that he broke Brandon Vera's face in 3 places with that finishing shot. The reason Vera quit is because his orbital bone was shattered.
