I didn’t know about the ambient grave noises until recently and I must admit when I first heard them I got genuinely a bit scared 😱 I know…I’m 28 years old and I got scared by the sims. But the noises are spooky!!!

The special NPC arriving due to appearance of child sim ghost can be wild. One time in my game a child of Don and Dina died by fire, and when their ghost appeared the NPC that spawned was Bella Goth. Considering her disappearance being often tied to Don and/or Dina, it was crazy to witness.

Darleen and Skip could be negative towards their alive family members because these specific Darleen and Skip aren’t real Darleen and Skip… but those new copies of them added mid development (cuz you know there are hidden Skip, Darleen and Michael Bachelor in game files)

Zombies don’t necessarily bother sims, but I find that since their personality points get reset they are always mean and will pick a lot of fights with other sims 😂

I find TS2 ghosts unspeakably creepy. I remember playing the base game at the ripe age of 11 and getting absolutely traumatized by them. Back then, you kinda needed to deal with ghosts at home if you were playing with a family, with aging on for a long time. And, my god, they made things so difficult (I didn't want to sell the graves cause the platinum death ones are actually kind of pretty)! And the sounds they made! Might be the reason why till this very day I hate eerie sounds. Also, I don't think I saw it before, I do appreciate the Simbus 2000 reference :D 12:45

I have read on Mod The Sims that the maximum chance of succeeding when pleading for loved one is 90%. Apparently it takes the daily and lifetime relationship of the Sim who is pleading towards the Sim who is dying and adds them together. That number is the percentage chance they have to succeed, except if the number is below 25 it always fails and if it's above 90 the chance is reduced to 90%. So in theory a 45/45 relationship works just as well as 100/100.

Odd, I don't do it in my gameplay anymore but when I did back in the day I only really ever remember it failing like twice, every other time it worked. Maybe it's true.

I've read somewhere that it's always 100% first, but reduced by 10% each time you do it again. edit: Buuut I just remember it's not related to this interaction but to the power to cheat death granted by the genie :D

For them you can extend their lifespans by pleading too and obviously old people will die more often or lets say they already expired and you just prolong that by few days or so. Forgot how that goes anyway but seen a streamer recently did it. I dont know how many rotations in the family Grim is coming over and over again this one dude just wont die the plead always works XD

Sims 2 zombies are great; to me, they’re just a handy way of making sims immortal without using cheats (and without the drawback of vampires). You can also kill them again and pay a little more to bring them back a with their personality reversed if the meanness and sloppiness gets too much.

Thank you for mentioning and explaining angry ghost thoughts bubbles! Always was confused by them. Remembering same situation on Capps lot. All ghosts were angry at all family members, and on other ghosts (their dead children), showing Family aspiration bubble etc. Now it explains a lot!

I love the Better Ghosts mod on ModTheSims! It allows you to have more than 3 ghosts on a lot, aswell as many other features!

I always wondered where the spooky sounds came from!!! I just presumed it happened when there was a grave/urn on the lot, but never thought it actually came from the graves themselves! This explains why sometimes I heard it and sometimes I didn't... I must have been nearer/further away from the gravestone or urn! Amazing

I had a sim, created elder, that didn't live long enough in game to get attached to any bed. She did, however form an attachment to one of the toilets that I wound up deleting and replacing because it was always breaking down. So after that, every night she was out she complained about her toilet that I had deleted. I found it very amusing. Zombie teens will never get up to A+ grades, either. Sim children have to age up at least one day before their grades start going up. Since zombies don't age, they will never get above the C they start out with. I once resurrected one of the teens on Olive Specter's lot because she wanted to make a zombie. I also wanted to have a teen zombie go to college. I love the creepy noises you hear when you hover over the graves. Ghost pets have got to be the scariest thing in the game. Even scarier than the first time you hear the burglar music! Holy crap, those Eyes! I do love the ghost dogs digging ghost holes though. That's cute.

Once when playing the Smith family, PolTech’s ghost scared his son Johnny, killing him. After Johnny died a notification from PolTech popped up saying “That was a great week, I hope I can keep this up” … so spooky. This also made me wonder, do ghosts have wants? Usually I get those notifications when fulfilling a want has improved my sims aspiration score. Did PolTech want Johnny to die so he could join the afterlife with him? Very weird. Anyone else had something like this happen?

There is one more way to get the Resurrect-o-nomitron in vanilla gameplay. When a sim goes to University, if they become a Secret Society Member, they can slip it into their inventory to use when they return home. I am uncertain if they can resurrect (without mods), while at Uni (except maybe other campus students), but I often will use this method, if the storyline fits it.

I experimented with this a while ago and I *think* that I couldn’t resurrect anyone while on the secret society lot. I was trying to resurrect a fellow SS member who had died on the SS lot (I let the cowplant eat him, lol). Perhaps if my sim had someone else in their dorm household who died they might’ve been able to resurrect them while on the SS lot - but I didn’t try that out. If I did try that out I’d like to find out if the location of the grave has any effect on if sims can be resurrected on the SS lot or not. Also, take note that my experiments was were while ago so my memory on this could be wrong. But yes; this is a great way to get the bone phone without going through the effort of becoming a cult leader. You still have to work to get into the secret society… but befriending members while in uni is a lot quicker than working your way to the top of the paranormal career path.

If one is unable to resurrect the SS members that died on the SS lot, then I highly doubt even playable Uni sims could be resurrected there (for they would need to be members, and you cannot send 2 playable sims to the SS lot simultaneously). I know that you can resurrect Uni sims while living in Student Housing or Greek Houses (not certain about Dorms), because I have done so in the past (you just have to have room in the active household, or a mod that allows more than the playable 8), and I was able to resurrect both methods (paying too low to get zombies, or paying a higher price to get sims back with their normal state).

I remember once using the genie lamp to resurrect a couple child sims and getting freaked out because their personality had changed and the text implied that they were zombies! Their appearance didn’t change so I thought the game broke and did the sane thing: quit without saving and never tried it again… 😆

16:40 Curious where you've heard about this. In my times using the cowplant I've never had one of my own sims autonomously go for the cowplant, whether hungry or not. The only ones who get accidentally killed by the cowplant afaik are townies/NPCs.

I have three ghosts on the lot in my current playthrough, two sims who died tragically (freeze to death and death of heart attack) and one who died of old age with platinum aspiration. I noticed that the platinum ghost shows up less often than the other two and is much less angry. The one who froze to death was the first to go and he's the worst by far, every time he comes out it's a cataclysm. I noticed that they're especially mean towards children - perhaps because they're the 'new' sims in the household, but still. Why are you so mean towards your great-grandson, Sam? He did nothing to you!! (Btw hi again, I've just left the comment on your new video. Cowboy Branston is my mean grumpy ghost)

I had to build a cemetery for my sims because they were making my toilets pipes break every time. I also had to move my family to another house lot. The more my sims fixed their toilets the more easily the pipes break with a single flush. Their cemetery looked gorgeous, for I have build them up some sort of Greek cemetery style. With lots of gardening, Greek statues and other decorative objects.😅

Great video and happy spooktober ! Pleading for loved one is not guaranteed success. I actually had this case in witch i d murder sims for a story purpose and to not feel guilty i used that option and it worked but when i actually wanted to use it on sims i loved most it did not work. And god the grave sounds terrify me to this day. There is a limit indeed to how many ghosts can appear and the game does actually check ghosts at 7 pm (an actual bhav function in simPE) and there s also a mod that hightens the limit to even a hundred i think?? I m pretty sure i ve seen a video of calipers and tongs where they tried to spawn a hundred ghosts on the lot and the game literally can t handle it so it crashes. It s pretty interesting. Ghosts scaring living sims is quite interesting either and it s always a death trigger in my game and it s a pain sometimes.

The thing I'd really like to know is what should I do to make the ghost appear or prevent it from appearing? To manage wants and fears. I know I can move the grave to community lot to never see a ghost, but sometimes I need it on my home lot. And more often I play as a knowlege sim, so I get the "see a ghost" want a lot and move grave ls from graveyard to the home lot in order to do it... I never saw a ghost on the community lot, is ts even possible?

It is possible! But ghosts need 24 hours, so this time has to pass on the community lot first. You can send one Sim, manage their needs via cheat and wait until the ghosts appear, from that point on they can come out any night you visit the lot! As for fulfilling the want, I'm afraid you just have to wait for the ghost to haunt your Sim.

The Sim (TS2) of my then boyfriend, hated every single lounge in the game and dropped dead out shear frustration of my choices (didn't have any mods or cc at all). His traits/personality: 6 neat & active, 4 outgoing & Nice & 5 playful... ish, I last play his Sim 10 years ago, so I could be a couple of points off.

If it used to happen, it's been patched out. There was also the mystery pregnancy death that was only because pregnant Sims have the disease token that apparently used to be lethal.
