I love this! I started doing something similar with townies a while ago (couple of years or so?) and loved the families... the game went to crap (like sims disappearing) so stopped playing it. Since then I've made a few families but nothing like my old hood, unfortunately. I use townies from Pleasantview and Bluewater Village. 😊

I was wondering why some of my Sims' kids were ending up with elves ears, so to keep making it sense in my head I just imagined those kids were actually changelings. I really like the idea, it's like having a secret occult type in the game, it adds some fantasy to my neighborhood hehe

8:53 I think Asian face templates should be name swapped, because in Korea and Japan this V sharp shape of chin is considered as beuatiful in those countries for the women. Japanese screams to me south Asia (Vietnam,Laos,Cambodia espicially)

So, I created this system for non-heir sims specifically. I play The Sims 2 in my native language (Thai), and the game translates "active" into sporty energetic (I don't know the english words-) So, I have never understand active like you do. And for me, grouchy seems to fit fortune sims more, like, rich people is arrogant or something like that. And, romance should be nice, so they'll have the charm to seduce(??) others-

I think the Persian one is pretty accurate! At least I know a Persian (Iranian) woman who looks like that (or similar). The nose looks pretty accurate, and the general shape. I also agree with someone who commented before, that nro 4 Mediterranean looks Italian. I also know an Italian man who looks similar to that, with pretty sharp features. No offence to these people, ofc. 😂 The Sims faces look cartoony and not like any real person. Are the faces in the 'head' category the same faces as in the 'face' category? When I was a kid, me and my friend would always pick one (or two) of those faces in the 'head' category and not touch the 'face' templates at all. The face templates are so exaggerated and random (they don't have labels to tell which one is which, so it's kind of a gamble) and we didn't know about the right-click technique to blend the templates, so we only used sliders to slightly adjust the 'head' templates. I started to play the game again as an adult and play around more with the different ethnicities, when I realized that's what the templates were supposed to be. There is no Finnish face template, so I used to struggle to make myself in the game as a kid, but now I've figured out a way where I start from a round Asian-looking face and tweak it, and change the hair, eye and skin color. The game guides you to adjust things in a set order so it kind of took me a while to figure out you could achieve different looks by doing things in different order.

I don't know how this happened, but I just realized that a few days ago I made a mistake and swapped the wrong file in SimPe (I used this xml). I just did a test and the sim whose whole face I swapped gave birth to a child with new genetics, despite this mistake!

Sims based on bin Sims are connected to eelf with broken templates, Sims generated in game or via CAS are connected to base usually. csla is only connected to eelf on a few Sims.

Years ago, my sim fell for Waylon Menon, so they got married and had kids. It was so confusing as they all aged 😂 idk if I'll ever put in this kind of effort for a fix, but now I know I have the option!

Sometimes creating Sims in BodyShop can out of nothing generate a broken face and I have no idea of why! This only happens when you spend a lot of time working in the face like changing it a lot and mixing traits from different face templates. I do have the proper fixes installed but when I'm creating Sims and still! I wonder why this happens. Picking a new face trait (like an eyebrow) fixes it though! I wonder if that's how the faces got broken. Also I do use a bunch of custom sliders so not sure if that's related! Nice video as always! I love scientist Marticore <3

Uni has a bunch of sims with broken templates and I think some downtownies too (I can only think of Orion Teens right now, the blond goth guy)

Would it work (for Picasso, for example) to click one of the sliders for plastic surgery once and then click it back? Or do you really have to recreate a whole face from scratch?

At first i thought it's gonna be about some new method about bringing the faces back from unlinked-ness (lol?) but it's just the way we already know Tho I'm still very glad you made video about it, so now I can just send friends here instead of always explaining it step by step just to see them give up and say it's too hard lol

I think you're right. In my very first Sims family (so roughly in 2008), my sim Sarah Zoom (I have no idea how I remember the family's names lmao) died randomly of hunger even though I was taking pretty decent care of the whole family. It would've been her 3rd child. The family was also living in the Spector house after Olive died if that changes anything lol.

Love seeing more life and stories being given to the familiar townies😊 Btw I did make a mod that fixes being stuck on the loading screen and sims getting up to shenanigans that you can’t see, its called Community Lot Arrival Delay Fix - No Pre-Populate. Not sure if this is the mod you meant that you have already but it should work, just make sure you don’t have ‘community lot normal speed arrival’ loading after it because it conflicts

I have trouble with installing the old version of the custom lightning in my game. It is not because I cannot find proper folders in my game but rather due to the fact that I just have no idea what files/scripts I'm supposed to copy into the game files. I find the guide on dreadpirate's tumblr unclear and I even gave up trying to install this using scriptorium... If anyone is able to help me by telling me exactly step by step how to do it or sending me a guide I will be truly thankful.

I want to create an army of Servos that look like regular Sims and replace every service NPC with them. This way, I won’t have to manually age them up along with my other Sims during my rotational, immersive playthrough. I even have a storyline planned for the Servo takeover! I just don’t like the idea of regular Sim NPCs being immortal forever.
