I really get you on not liking the whole townie makeovers thing. I’ll do that sometimes if I use a lot of CC to make them match my gameplay more but I pretty much leave them as similar to the original as possible. It especially kills me when people change townies they think are „ugly” to make them „pretty”. What’s with the obsession with beauty? People look how they look, not everybody has to be a supermodel.

Is not so much that they are "ugly", in my case is just that they look very random which takes off the appeal of interacting with them like you look at then and say "Yeah, this one is just background filler"

22:57 The first and last names of townies and NPCs are generated based on the people who worked on the game. Actually, the credit section contains "Kacper Centkowski" who belonged to Production and Design Team of The Sims 2 and I think putting his last name as "Centowski" would be a typo or to make it a derivative of cents as you mentioned. I recommend to read the credit section as looking at all those known names that are taken from the real people who worked on the game is quite pleasant. xD Mark Langerak, Jerome Despret and I have just discovered that there's real person named Goopy Gils Carbó.

Benjamin getting fit faster than his fiance is because of their personalities: he's got 9 Active points, while Amin only has 4. I really like the family story here; this was a great way to work with the randomly-generated careers! I never really thought about the issue with gendered surnames and how the game processes surnames. That's really interesting to think about, and I'm glad you brought it up! Speaking of language things, I have a couple minor bio corrections. For the Centowskis, "older and responsible" needs a noun to modify in its clause; I suggest adding "brother" at the end of the sentence. For BenjAmin, Amin's career should be called "morally dubious," not "morally doubtful." "Dubious" means "questionable, improbable, or morally suspect," while "doubtful" is a lot milder and just means "uncertain or unknown." If you want to emphasize suspicion, "dubious" is the way to go. You could even ditch the word "morally," since "dubious" sort of includes the "possibly immoral" connotation on its own.

I remember wondering why the Smiths in the Polish version of the game are called Kowal instead of the actual most typical Polish last name, so Kowalski (like that one penguin from Madagascar yes), but then I remembered that Kowalski is a gendered surname. So it's Kowalski or Kowalska depending on the gender. Also it's interesting how both in English and Polish the most typical surname refers to blacksmiths.

Centk-owski, od n. os. Centka, Cętka (: ap. cętka 'blaszka, służąca do ozdoby stroju, uprzęży 'Sstp, SXVI). This surname comes from centki cętki which was a metal plate used as a decoration a broshe or something like that.

I will forever and always know there are gendered last names in Poland after listening to my MIL bemoan the fact she's "Baranowski" and not "Baranowska" Her parents were immigrants to the US so she's second generation. She sure knows how to make some _amazing_ pierogi and sausage tho! We're continuing the tradition :)

So a criminal mastermind gives up his whole career because his partner disapproves? Not sure changing his clothes will totally make him unrecognizable, either. You should consider a better makeover-- maybe it'll make the storyline a little more believable. 😉🙃 I like seeing what townie connections others make (as I do it too) but the story has to be somewhat plausible imo.

I don't think Amin is really a bad guy and that it was extreme crime like unaliving people etc. Maybe he wanted to quit himself and just needed a push and some support! But yeah, the makeover will go on in the following episodes. I'm thinking of moving them too.

I was curious to see what was the official localisation for "Centowski" in russian - they completely change the thing to "Выбегалло" (with to run /biegać root). Why? I have no idea :DD But yes, it is also gender neutral for the same reason as Grosik
