That’s a guitar of substance Jon. I’m not a fan of aged electrics but I love acoustics with character like that. Also I believe that too much clear coats effect the sound and resonance and the sound is gorgeous. Beautifully played 😊👍👍😊🎄

does the dreadnought version give more warmth and fullness than this one? I ordered a d15m and im a lefty so there was only one available, it looks like there might be some issues with shipping so i might have to take the refund and get this instead

Oh my, that is the coolest non-blingy-est most natural looking guitar, love the subtle darkening of the edges. Is that a one piece back? It's 1399US on Amazon, affordable for a Martin & then add the Anthem pickup, now I may be smitten. Wonderful playing & production as always, Jon!

Thank you for such informative guitar reviews. However, I have to say after waiting 40 plus years to purchase my first Martin Guitar which was a custom ordered guitar from NAMM 2017 with Adirondack top and Cocobolo side and back. When it arrived and I was able to look at it closely Martin uses plastic binding. So, my expectations were greatly let down. I for one would appreciate Martin Guitars building to a higher standard then continually trying to come up with different models.

Yes...thanks for your sharing! Now that is one thing i cant wrap my hear around...Even on a custom built, they chose to use plastic bindings. One of the most common flaws with the Martins is the binding...especially here in the tropics✌♥

Jonathan, I own an HD-28. How would you describe the the sonic characteristic of the 15M dreadnought compared to the HD-28? I’m trying to decide between the 00015M and the D-15M.

As you might already know, mahogany will sound darker “warmer” so it’s great to have the D28 and a “Hog”✌️❤️

i bought one. i didn't know anything about it. i had just walked into Archambault in Montreal and it drew me in like a magnet. the look and the first impression upon taking it off the pegs....SO light SO musical SO much like a Percusion instrument...tap on it all over the place and you'll understand what i mean... ... ... that.... since i brought it back home... i've changed. I don't play guitar like i use to. And they are all different. Not two indentical instruments. For 1,399 US that is nothing short of a miracle from the folks at Martin. But there's a downside to this magic. They are unable to sustain such "sudden fame building stellar layman guitars for peanuts" at Martin Co. Half the stores in North America are backorder on it....and they are many who are already asking $4,000 for one. CoVid disaster in the shop ? War against variants ? Who on earth would take chances with a highly skilled gang of employees in times like these ? NOT Martin Co. for sure. And i don't blame them. So if you want one....
