Phenomenal elocution and syntactical genius. Wished he were still here and writing. Astonishing descriptive detail

Great talk by the late and great Martin Amis. Such a gift for words and irony...he is very missed. I wonder why of all places was the Ukraine where the famine was implemented?...

Fantastic book

I would have liked to ask Amis why he peppered “The Zone of Interest” with so many German words, phrases & whole paragraphs with no translation. Sometimes I could figure out at least approximately what they meant, based on the context, but more often I just read past the German. I guess I could have googled the German, but that would take a lot of time.

Maybe because many of the prisoners could not speak German when they arrived at the camp?

@@JAK-c9q Clever thought, putting the reader in the same position as a prisoner. The problem is, it makes it difficult to follow the story.

Oops above comment was supposed to be reply to another comment - not a post! Mea culpa. Martin Amis is one of the GOATS. Why 11k views but only 3 likes????

The Hitch and Martin were the epitome of “cool” and the speaker here seems like a good dude 👍

smoking did for both of them - what a shame. you couldn’t and maybe wouldn’t have changed them in any way though.

I tend to be like the lady in this video who laugh with shrill voice during speach and how annoying it must be for the speakers. Sorry. I will be careful. lol

Now every writer is churning out woke w.ank tosh, like the art galleries in London, everything is about the strong black woman, that and gender!

When did 'if you buy this book you can't take it home and we are charging post and packaging' become a good idea? (I know he is dead) This the nail in his coffin.

That’s for people watching on line. Not for people who are actually there.
