Delightful. A fine looking lady singing smilingly, unpretentiously, with unrestrained fulness of voice; just seemingly being herself and enjoying every moment of it.

Simply wonderful to see the lovely Julie Felix and then Dave and Martin, just as we want to remember them - in their prime and never to age. What joy they brought us and now blessed we are to have known their music. When they are joined by Julie we are reminded of the beauty of her voice - as was the norm in those days, just sung straight with a purity now lost in an age of absurd and incoherent vocal histrionics.

What a charming young lady and talented too. Bob Dylan tipped me off to Martin Carthy. You could live several lifetimes and need never stop learning about and discovering new music.

RIP Julie. I first heard heard her as a 5 year old in the mid-60s, my dad was obsessed. She may well have been the first singer I knew by name. Her version of Masters Of War used to scare me rigid, I remember that. I always asked my father to skip it when he played the LP when I was in the room.

Gordon Lightfoot’s “Early Morning Rain” is one of my favourites, but it is a sad song and has been jollied-up too much here.

What a gem. Beautiful voice of Julie backed by two of my favourite musicians doing a song of one of my favourite song writers.

Incredible footage. We forget Julie was very popular in the late 60s. My wife remembers seeing her solo show at the Royal Albert Hall around this time.

I wonder who the out -of-shot double bass player was?
@scrimshank13 жыл бұрын
I think Martin lowered his tuning to make the guitar sound like a bass. Just watch his picking and match it to the bass beat.

Martin and Dave great together but failed with Julie who gave all only to be backed by weak guitar and mandolin folksy picking and no harmony vocal. This powerful Gordon Lightfoot song deserved better, a lot better.
