Those strings on that D28A sound superb...resonant, articulate, dry, balanced, loud with great bottom end, mids and highs...

Thanks for making this video, what an incredible version with your great singing and guitar flat picking. Not sure if all the Martin D28 1941 Authentic guitars their making now sound as great as yours but you sure did get a keeper there with that one, just beautiful tone with amazing response... I want one now!

Excellent. The guitar is awesome and you play it well. Thank you for showing this camera angle. I'm copping all your licks. I like your Dead covers too, but this song really grabbed me. Someone in the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum put a link up to this. Very, very nice performance.

Thanks man I appreciate it. send me a link to the forum post id like to check it out
@dallgire8 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to post the link, but having trouble. The thread was in Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum (umgf.com). When you get to umgf.com, look in "The D28 Lounge" section, and then the thread is "HD-28 vs. a 41 D-28 Authentic." Or if you use the search engine in UMGF type in either "Billy Brown" or "HD-28 vs. a 41 D-28 Authentic." I think that will take you to the link. The link to your video is on the 4th or 5th page of that topic. Your video is a great guitar lesson for me. I have the skills to pick it up pretty quick, but it's a song I didn't know and some new licks. So again, I really appreciate this video. I guess you are not a member of Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum? You should come by and say Hi. People there appreciate your work. Dick Allgire Honolulu

Thanks I appreciate it I signed up under billybrownbluegrass Ill def chime in on the 41 d28a. This guitar just has the "pre war sound" Its hard to articulate quickly all the great things about it but ill def try on the umgf when I have more time. Im glad ya like the vid and if you can take something away from it thats great. thats my favorite way to learn Ears and a clear view of the fingerboard ;)

I put a welcome post in the UMGF in the D-28 lounge, told folks about you and posted a new link to this video. Lotta folks there love their D-28 Authentics.

Hey Billy, what year is this guitar based on serial? I know they changed the polish finish, from high polish to a vintage polish which is more equivalent to Collings Traditional.

@@danielpenaofficial4186 I haven't, I actually sold the guitar in the video for a few reasons, although it sounds amazing, its retched excess for a poor boy like me. Another thing is I'm super particular about setup and with a T-bar instead of a truss rod there isn't much room to adjust the guitar through the seasons, and I didn't like the taper of the neck (kind goes from skinny by the nut to fat by the body. With that said its the best sounding acoustic I've owned. Now a d28 built light like a authentic with a truss rod and performing artist neck and the acoustic guitar search would be over.
@danielpenaofficial41864 жыл бұрын
Billy Brown lol Im sure you could “custom shop” one but I was told authentic bracing cannot be made through them only on the authentic models.. which is a sjame and the coat of finish also cannot be made through the custom shop only the authentic line.... so why did you sell? I know the truss rod isn’t adjustable... like on the 40’s.... other reason as to why it was sold?
@BillyBrownBluegrass4 жыл бұрын
@@danielpenaofficial4186 If ya read back through I listed all my main reasons. A custom shop would be sweet but way out of my reach, maybe someday though ;)Im sure if ya get any authentic you'd be happy with it.Tthey really are great guitars.
