You definitely play very well, damn I dream I could have your skills. Thanks for the video, I realize this video is years old but thanks anyway. Peace.

Same boat, technically a drummer but I love guitars. Bought a 2019 D28 MD brand new unfortunately I’m still a hack at playing. Sadly I only have about 30 minutes total playing time on mine ( playing other guitars so I don’t jack it up ) until I get better. Still it’s am amazing guitar that I’ll never part with eventually passing it down to my son ..

I have th Guild D55E i like it but the neck is just not right for my hands. i am looking at the HD28 modern deluxe, Or the Taylor K14cev, my current all rounder is a 2001? Taylor 314 which has played in nicely. I don’t have music stores close so its hard to play them first. I appreciate you passing along your knowledge, and being able to get a general idea about the sound of the guitars. No substitute for getting them in my hand, but sometimes you go with what you can.

thanks for the reviews that you do, I've been considering a new guitar to go with my Taylor 914, I'm looking for a strong strummer with a well balanced tone, always been a Taylor guy so I'm clueless with Martin's. this modern deluxe D28 looks like a good place to start, now to find one locally to test lol

Richard Cooper I bought one earlier this week. You won’t regret it. I’m a Martin man myself but often find myself picking up taylors when I go to shops. Im a strong strummer and this guitar will take a beating. It is all the LOUD! But with no loss in tone. I was weary of spending this much on a guitar but so worth it.

Seems to have a more balanced output in the mids and highs like an HD--28 but is as exact and pronounced as a D-28. So is this as solid as the D-28, as the HD-28 and HD-35 are more sensible with pressure on the top (not to brake them)?

Hi Chris, Its me again. I would like to say here that this Martin D28 Modern Deluxe really looks premium built but I haven't got the chance to play on it myself just to know how it would sound like. Indeed in my recent shopping visit at Bangkok, I played most of the Martin Guitars except HD35 but it was a little bit surprise on the downside that I really didn't feel like as premium when I held them and played them all. No doubt neck feel was pretty good but nothing comparable with Taylor guitar necks. The sound produced by Martin guitars as I experienced was a bit below my expectation when I really played them all. Overall Taylor guitars sounded well when I played like 814e V-Bracing Deluxe and 914e V Bracing etc. Today, I would like to ask you my personal question here as you already played Martin D28 Modern Deluxe and Taylor 814e Deluxe V-Bracing. Which one I should buy next as I am determine either of the two. Now, already I played Taylor 814e Deluxe V-Bracing but not yet played on Martin D28 Modern Deluxe.

Hey Chris, I love your reviews, very info-filled, very honest and non-biased.I have to throw in my 2 cents though- please don't take me for a troll but I really can't stand that little trilly tune you use in your demos. I know that everyone's taste is different and I see the point of using the same tunes for purpose of comparison, however, people are, generally, not as dumb as they seem! Dispicable?..yes! .but smarter than they seem at a glance. I would really appreciate a little variety of tunes and styles , more chance you hit on the right buyer that way.....and that little high up the neck, Taylor-sounding ditty is really turning me off!!!.. sorry, but it kills me Everytime! On the flip side, I noticed a new classical- type thing you did on this one- loved it!! Thanks for your videos, I have purchased at least one guitar, unplayed, online, thanks in part to your demos.

@jamespinkston2988
@jamespinkston2988 2 жыл бұрын
The D-35 isn't really a step up from a D-28. It just has a couple of differences that some players might prefer. Like a bound fretboard and 3 piece back. That's why the 28 and 35 are pretty close in price. The Modern Deluxe versions have some upgraded more modern materials. For what it's worth, I just bought a D-28 modern deluxe, and there was a new HD-28 right next to it in the music store. Both guitars sounded better than anything else in the store. They were literally the two best sounding guitars I've ever played, and they sounded almost identical. The only reason I splurged and bought the modern deluxe was because I just liked the look of the binding, gold frets, and logo a little more. And I figured I would own this guitar for the rest of my life, so why have any regrets about not getting the one I liked better, even if just slightly. Cheers.

The side opened up about a quarter of an inch and the top split in two places; so I guess I now have pretty firewood.I believe the vts system is no good. I personally would not buy any new guitar, look for an old one they are built better. But I am now finished with Martin for this is the second one that has fallen apart.
