As far as transformative signings go, Özil was the first one back in the day, which led to our club ending a long term trophy drought. His signing made everyone at the club better, and helped raise the level on and off the pitch, there’s no denying that fact. The next one was the loan signing of Ødegaard. I had a feeling Arteta and Edu were upto something, and when he did sign permanently for a measly fee by today’s crazy standards, I knew we will soon see something special. Of course, everyone took notice of him last season, but I was crying already watching him play in an Arsenal shirt an year earlier. A part of me died the day Cesc left us. With Martin, that part lives again. My captain.

People forget that this man currently has a ballon D’or nomination, and I’ve seen people putting Maddison and Szoboszlai ahead of him. As good as they’ve been getting forward, it’s such a small sample size to work off, and I cannot see how people are putting them ahead of him right now. Odegaard is a top class player, who’s IQ is up there with the best in the world right now. Arteta knows this and thats why he’s doing so many different things in this new role of his.

Some of his latest matches have been a little bleak, but so has the entire team. It's still not clicking like it did last season, and the style of play is very different. This has to be a conscious choice by Arteta. About MØ, I still remember how much tighter Arsenal got in the press just 3-4 games after he started playing. And the press is still great, now up there with City. I am not comparing him to Bernardo Silva, just making a note of a player that plays even more wildly different roles in a team depending on opposition and who is available. Pep has his swiss army knife to solve nearly any problem in the team. Maybe Arteta is trying to find someone more diverse to give him some of the flexibility Pep gets from Bernardo.

Awesome video like always. I completely agree with your points however I need to add something. Odegaard and Saka are monsters and opponents know that. Therefore they are always double marking them all the time when they have the ball. Therefore, its harder to do something with the ball and pump their offensive numbers. However, if opponents put so much focus on them, that means others should have much more space. And Arteta wants that actually. He always wants to overload one side and then strike from another and thats the point. Even if Odegaard is not making the numbers that we want this season, he is still a key to our strategy. And Arteta is very happy with him, he even said in the interview that he should only keep doing what he is doing 🙂 Cheers

This is correct. All of our midfielders are contributing to the new defensive approach to take the sting out the game that's why we've been solid, aside a few mistakes that led to goals conceded. Another thing is that we've not had Partey who finds line breaking passes at the base of midfield for much of the season. Once we have him fully back and lineup in attack from last season starts playing together, we will be blowing teams away.

The Gerard comparison was interesting but I'd implore you to look at Pirlo and the parallels between him and Odegaard (in terms of career progression, skill and physicality) - not saying that is where he would play or even be as good. A midfield diamond of Partey Rice and ordegaard and a forward 3 of Martinelli Jesus Saka. The defense is already known white Saliba Gabriel and Zinny or Tomi. This way odegaard will find more freedom to attack and create chances. In games this season he drops a lot to cover for the midfield void created by havertz. Odegaard is a monster.

I am curious to see how these players develop without having as much time on the training pitches of London Colney. More travel means more screen time & overall flying weekly is not necessary to become a better player. The exhaust pollution will have an overall impact on the climate, & player’s respiratory health, which is an issue that the club & FA could consider responding to with clarity.

There are fans that never wanted Odegard in the first place and fans who have refused to accept that Tierney is not the Captain.

I wouldn't worry about them. Our fans are bipolar, they bend SO EASILY to narratives pushed by rivals. As soon as Xhaka/Auba/Giroud/Walcott/Emery/Wenger all left, these same people wanna give them credit after cussing them for years 😂😅

My thinking is that Arteta wants to use Odegaard as a Gundogan type player and Havertz as the CAM/ST..like De Bruyne/Haaland...my question though..is Havertz up for the Challenge?
@RDNHGH

The answer so far is a hell NO!! It's sad that that Havertz as well as Viera, both who were CHOSEN BY ARTETA, are taking up spots in our squad when the £100m spent on them we could have signed multiple BETTER MIDFIELDERS is CRIMINAL to say the least smfh 😮NOW we are stuck with them and they have to play because ARTETA has to try and justify HIS decisions on signing them, GOD help us!!

I trust Odegaarde is open to learning & really enjoy watching him play football, far more the Ozil. As a fan, last season was great to see the team focus without European competition. I am curious to see how these players develop without having as much time on the training pitches of London Colney. More travel means a greater negative impact on the climate, which is an issue that FA could consider responding to

@@juuglord8509they are similar players IMHO, only that özil played when the traditional n0 10 was still appreciated, but ødegaard found himself developing when systems are more of the thing

@@jacobalexander4167 lol disagree. Stylistically he's more like Rosicky or Hleb (without the mazy dribbling) to me than he is Ozil. And systems have been around forever, they aren't new, Ozil was one too. People just say that to excuse his drop in form, meanwhile other 10's that played at the same time as Ozil still managed to adapt and perform at a high level. It's more appropriate to say he's limited (or too specialised), not that the 10 isn't appreciated. Remember Ozil played on the wing, suddenly he couldn't and people would say he's being played out of position, lol.
@jacobalexander4167
@jacobalexander4167 7 ай бұрын
@@juuglord8509 no, systems wasn't around, like how pep and arteta are playing, özil struggled with Emery and arteta because they remove his freedom as a n0 10, that's why their are hardly any individual players like 10 years ago, when there are hardly systems and teams were built around individual players. Now all you get is system players that would look class in a certain system and look thrash in another, e.g de bruyne, halaand, sterling etc. Players that would look world class in a certain system, buy put them as individual players where the team is built around and they turn average players, and for the records ødegaard at Real sociedad was crazy similar to özil, not like to like in their positioning, areas the like to play in, özil likes to play centrally, while ødegaard likes to drift out right, but their passing, vision, control, reading of the game and link up is familiar, øzil formed a partnership with sanchez as ødegaard formed a partnership to saka

@@jacobalexander4167 lol you must be young if you really believe that. At Werder Bremen and for the German national team Ozil often played on the wing, he moved centrally at Madrid, and was often on the wing at Arsenal until being moved centrally at a later stage. And you think that's a recent phenomenon? That players play better in certain teams or set ups than others? That's always been the case. Again, it's just an excuse. Systems have been around forever. Teams have never been 'built around a single player' that too is a myth. Every manager would love to put a good forward up top and support him with a good midfielder who is covered by a good defensive mid and so on.
