Turning 70 and have not played much in years. Just got the 11E that came with Martin Lights. Having a hard time playing them. Looking to try Martin extra lights... Do you see an issue here? I thought about the Custom lights but their tension is only 8% lower than the lights. Extra lights are some 25% lower. I play through an Amp and want to practice a lot and build back my fingers. Thoughts? My Luther is gonna give me Eye. Lol I pick, finger pick, strum and solo.

Surprisingly, VERY surprisingly, a Yamaha still made in Japan. Just doesn't seem to have the full sound that the comparable Taylors and Martins do (nice shirt Paul D) but then that's all up to personal perception, perspective right?

I am very interested in this particular guitar. I have looked on the Martin Guitar website and various dealers websites and nowhere can I find the dimensions of this Grand Performance body size. Does anyone know the dimensions across the lower and upper bouts and the depth of the body?
@stringbender57
@stringbender57 5 жыл бұрын
Mystery solved! I just found the dimensions for the Martin 'Grand Performance' body style as follows: Upper bout - 11-7/16", Lower bout -15", Upper bout depth - 3-11/32", Lower bout depth - 4-1/8". Why Martin does not have this info on their website I'll never know!

@ancientslav4863

Yeah but...richlite fretboard and bridge. The neck isnt anyway near mahogany. The grade of the woods isnt AAA at all, so expect something like a Yamaha LL6 or Fender CD1xx quality. I mean they are really expensive for the quality - 1000-1500$ for the Road series is just too much. You pay for the name and they dont sound much...You could just get a used guitar of more value. I see no pro in buying these. No offence, I love Martin, acoustics, AcoustiLetter but I just cant advise anyone buying these when I can just go to reverb or buy a new Yamaha or Epiphone Masterbuilt for half the price with euqual sound. Or just buy a used Takamine AN, EN, TAN....they sound like 2000-3000$ guitars, yet you can get them under a grand. I own a TAN15C which I got for 600$ almost new and its D18 level honestly...
@ancientslav4863
@ancientslav4863 4 жыл бұрын
BTW you know which guitar uses this kind of quality woods or similar? A Fender CD 140 and it definitely sounds similar for so little money.
@PATRYAN84

WakingCobain nothing wrong with rich lite finger board and bridge. This is being applied to a lot of high priced guitars now. Richlite is better to play on then ebony and doesn’t have to be maintenance. Gibson even uses richlite on some of its higher model guitars such on Gibson hummingbird Stuido.
