Thanks for the demo really nice ! Have the stnd OOO-42 and it sounds more similar to the OOO-28EC. Also have the OOO-28VS 12-fret open headstock. It is true the longer scale length on the OM models add to a more 'brilliance' sound , but for me atleast , that only detracts from the easier to play shorter scale length of the OOO model's and the warmer tone they produce ..I agree with EC in his selection for a more versatile finger style guitar that isn't overly bright in tone.

I'm a huge EC fan and have always wanted the EC model because his name is on it. With that said I think the EC sounded 3rd best of this bunch. The 42 IMO was the better sounding guitar. Full disclosure: I can't even afford the Chartin version of any of these guitars.

I think the OM-28V for my ears - but they're all great sounding guitars.

Fwiw the EC has wider string spacing at bridge (2 1/4 vs 2 5/32) than either of the other two or the OOO-28 STD for that matter. On a guitar geared toward fingerstyle, that should help playability for most people.

@@lesterpaul9657 If you say so, maybe I will, been playing loud Marshalls for 25+ years...lmao By the way, I own 2 of those 3 Martin models shown in this video (OM42 & 000-28EC plus a 000-42EC) so I think I have a pretty good idea of how they sound. You also do realise that there's no right or wrong answer when it comes to preferences, don't you? And yes, I insist that out of those 3 specific examples in this video I'd take the 000-28EC. Now if I had to choose one of my own Martins then it'd probably be the OM42.

@@Toys_in_the_Attic Interesting. Why the OM-42? I've been looking at guitars and have narrowed down to the Martin sound for sure, and then the OM body style. And when it comes to the OM-42 people mostly talk about the difference in looks, but I'm trying to learn more about the difference in sound, mostly because I do not have a way of trying one in a store near me (shops any where even close the don't keep them in stock). Would love any comments from your perspective on your OM-42 vs. other any other OMs. Thanks.
