Like many concerts of the Terra Sancta Organ Festival, the concerts of the Semaine de l’Orgue au Liban (SOL Festival, Lebanese Pipe Organ Week) also witnessed a historic moment. There are still a couple of weeks left for the Coronavirus problem to arise and a couple of months for the explosion at the port of Beirut, but Lebanese society has long been shaken by the economic and political crisis and the people take to the streets to protest. Martin Haselboeck's concert is scheduled for the evening of Sunday 2 February 2020 in the National Evangelical Church at the same time as the demonstrations are announced. The church, however, in the meantime has been isolated by the security forces, being exactly in front of the government building. What to do? Should we cancel the concert of one of the most important European musicians? Not a chance. Here is the solution: the concert is brought forward to the morning and placed after the religious function, almost a continuation of the prayer, a lay prayer for Lebanon in addition to the religious one.

Excellent chef d'orchestre à la tête de sa Wiener Académie, Martin Haselböck est ici un piètre organiste... Quel manque d'imagination, et quel jeu très quelconque...
