For the money, the Blueridge sounds close enough to the Martin and youll save like $2k also. Better strings will get the BR even closer, I think. Nice demo. Ty!

Have you demoed a Gibson J45 Standard? I tried one for the first time recently, and was amazed.

I have 2K saved up for a guitar. Would you recommend one over the other? Thanks for doing the comparison.

If you can get a Martin HD28 for around the 2k or slightly higher I would recommend the Martin. Simple reason it will hold its value and your getting a heirloom that can appreciate and can conceivably be passed down to your heirs. Blueridges are nice and some will sound better than Martin's but remember what they are...offsprings of a Martin.

@@Minor7thb5 thanks for the great advice! I maybe save up a few hundred more and get the Martin!

Martin way more expensive and Blueridge sounds close to it.

Yeah that Martin was $2,900 and the Blueridge was less than $1k

The Martin sounds much better to my ears, and is more pleasing to my eyes. $2,900 though? Not this cat. I'll stick with my sub $1,000 Guild...because I didn't like the Blueridge at all, too bassie.

If you were a bluegrass picker, you would love the Blueridge BR-160A. They were both bassy. I love it.
