My dad drove us to the airport in 1959 to see the flying boxcars, still in US military gray. It flew over my house last night with the Snowbirds. Guess I was there at the beginning and the end.

My dad had some friends who were operating the vehicles that towed the airplane out of the water just after its first arrival at Pat Bay. I was able to get up close to it, but don’t have any pictures unfortunately.
