Sally Field was cute young and beautiful as a woman. And Martin Milner, come on, Adam 12.?
@calchick8214 жыл бұрын
@ilovemartinmilner He said that Martin took the time to talk to him in between takes, so that was very nice. Not sure what the whole conversation consisted of, but I'll ask my dad if he remembers. Me and my younger brothers were barred(by my mom) from going outside to watch the filming so we wouldn't disrupt so I(I was about 9 then)didn't get the chance to meet him:( I really wish I could have!! "Adam-12" was my favorite Martin Milner show.

@ilovemartinmilner I wish KZbin had episodes of "Adam-12":) Hulu has them, but not all the seasons. At least they have most of the seasons though, so better than nothing! BTW, an "Adam-12" from the last season(was sometime in early '74, I believe, though could have been summer of '74)was filmed in front of my house when I was a kid living in Van Nuys, California. It was a car chase scene. We saw the episode later on tv, so that was cool. Haven't seen it in many years. My dad got to meet him:)

I was this tiny, like Sally Field when I was in my teens - oh so long, long ago. Many moons ago... Wish I was still that tiny, weight wise 😥 Still the same height.😊

@calchick82 Couldn't see it right now. :( Apparently, Netflix has stopped streaming Adam-12 for some reason. It comes on here at four o'clock. I rarely miss it, so I'll be on the lock out for the episode.

Gidget was 15 1/2 years old (in the TV series anyway). Martin Milner was 34 here. How would that work today?
@ilovemartinmilner4 жыл бұрын
They were both playing characters younger than they were. He was supposed to be in his his twenties.

It was also not uncommon for women to be married by the time they were 18, either, in 1965.

@@laurah6845 Fast Forward to 25 years later and if a 18 year old in 1990 tells his/her Parents about getting married, the Parents would be like "Why? You got a lot of life to experience before you say "I Do."

@@laurah6845 so true. Late 1950’s, my mom was engaged at 17, married at 18.

The premise of this episode was the infatuation of Gidget with a older attractive totally unconventional man.Kahuna ie Cassius Cobb who actually holds very traditional ideas.He knows that Gidget is attracted to the idea of a care free no responsability life that Cassius was leading.Both he and her father were flip sides of the same coin.Only Martin Milner could of played the role.He had the attraction of being an older man,an inner core of decency and the sparkle of happiness in his eyes.No other actor could have kissed her twice and not come across as a creep.

@calchick82 It was wise of your mom not to let you disrupt, but kind of a bummer for you and your brothers. When you talk to your dad, ask if he remembers the episode title. I'll watch it and look for your house. For me, it's a toss-up between Adam-12 and Route 66. Love em both!

@ilovemartinmilner The episode's title(to the best of my knowledge, after some research awhile back through IMDb.com)is "Alcoholic". Kind of a strange title. I think the car chase scene is the only one in the episode, and comes near the end. It is right before Reed & Malloy catch the bad guys(they used part of the surrounding neighborhood where we lived in Van Nuys for these scenes). My dad is standing arms crossed leaning up against a white Datsun sedan in our driveway & our house barely seen.
