A day on the trails around the cabin on a brisk day. A nice sunny day made it a great time to be in the woods.

I worried about Martin when I first started watching then I realized what great shape he was in. All the miles he walks, all the hard labor he has done, walking and talking and you never hear him huff and puff and groan like so many of these young guys do on their videos. And how many men of his generation are as trim as he is? Replacing the foundation on the cabin with those huge rocks convinced me that there is a lot more to this man than we know. I think he has found the fountain of youth in Minnesota. God bless you, Martin!!

I've watched your trips to the cabin in snow for years. Being in northern Indiana near lake Michigan we're no stranger to the snow. At a real temp of -21 and a windchill of -45 as I write this, I have to say............Bah Humbug to winter!! I'll leave the snow to you! I'm 5 years from retirement and ready to find an island in the tropics! You're a true woodsman. I admire you. But I'd rather admire you from a beach where it's alway warm and sunny. Thanks, my new camera has some features that make those shots easier to get after some experimenting. Basically it holds the shutter open for 15 seconds and then I paint the light in with a strong flashlight. Check the results and adjust.

Beautiful hike. In one place you perfectly captured the blue of snow when the sunlight is minimal. I really felt I was along for the walk. Two thirds of the way through your video I had to hit pause and put on a sweater. But the nice. long video made the cabin look so much more cozy at the end.

Great video, Martin! Love the winter trails. Wife thinks I'm nuts spending time outside in the winter, but a good cup of coffee and a camp fire can make the worst days enjoyable. You have gotten to be part of my Saturday morning routine. Turn on the kettle, check the weather, feed the stock, check if Martin posted a new video.

7am here in Tasmania Australia, I survived the fires so far..it got to under 2 miles from my farmm.. My camp and cabin are burnt out (again) I crave isolation. Thanks Marty. My new camera has a nightscene mode that keeps the shutter open for 15 seconds and then automatically purges the "noise" that a long exposure tends to leave on the image. I would splash light from a strong flashlight on the cabin and trees to light them slightly.

Looks like you're a mustard lover, too. I used to get Plochman's whenever I could find it, but haven't been able to pick any up lately. I still make do with other yellow mustards. Nothing bad about mustard, except maybe the sodium. No sugar, no carbs, no cholesterol :)

In my retirement from being a Boilermaker, I have been a 'part time' Truck driver and I have hauled 'Mustard Seed' from my hometown of Carman, Manitoba to a Mustard processing plant in Berlin, Wisconsin. I too, like mustard. I also like watching Martin's videos. Thank you for the entertainment

Might that be Wisconsin Spice? I get a lot of mustard that's made by Olds Products in Pleasant Prairie, Wi., but I've had one or two in the past that were made by WS, Inc. Used to have a neighbor who had his tickets for inspecting and repairing locomotive boilers. He also kept up his ticket to operate locos as well.
