Love the bonfire! My Grandpa used to point out the corduroy logging roads on the old logging trails in Michigan back in the 1950s. Most of them were pretty well sunken into the ground but you could still see where they were. The lumber from Michigan was used to build many houses and factories around the Midwest.

I like that mill. Nice. Near Pittsburg, PA there is a ski resort and some folks homes have wood siding that is cut 1-2 inches thick from logs. If there is a significant contour/knot that becomes part of the design of the siding. It is just so cool looking. They are like two bedroom rancher homes but the siding stained dark brown gives them a cabin feel.

What about just pulling the cart full of wood in and parking it by the stove? It will keep you from having to unload the wood. You could just take from the cart as you need it. And you're right, if it's worth doing its worth doing with power tools. A double dose of Martin today too. Great!!

Martin, you answered a commenter’s question that you spray your clothing with diluted permethrin that’s meant for horses? Your vids are always looked forward to- and this one was no exception! Blessings!

Once the Permethrin dries it is safe. It will last through 6 washings they say.

Hi Martin well this might seam like a silly question but I am 70 and we are just starting to see ticks around where I live North central Alberta Canada So could you give me a run down what you used to spray on your clothes thanks a bunch I like watching your videos
@TheNorthwoodsman15 жыл бұрын
Everyone including me are fans of permethrin. Sawyer sells some at .5%. Cheaper to get horse permethrin at 10% and then dilute it. I spray it on clothes and let it dry, some soak clothes in a bath of it. Ticks do not like to be on Permethrin treated clothes. Also note the fashion statement of pulling sock up over pant legs so ticks can't get in.
