i just watched this movie and dang it was so so good. one scene/shot i really loved was when Ballin was at his home talking to Johnny about Gilda and Ballin was drowned out in a shadow , beautiful shot.

The film Gilda captured Rita Hayworth at the peak of her beauty. Demi Moore wore the satin Gilda dress to an opening of a Planet Hollywood that she & Bruce Willis invested in back in the early 1990’s.I saw Gilda with my mother and when the scene where she wears the sparkly long evening coat came on I asked my mother how they could make sequins before the invention of plastic and she told me they used Mica. Rita still looks fantastic when she makes Pal Joey but there is an underlying sadness to her because she knows that film is her last musical being featured actor.

Gilda is the kind of film that I can watch over and over again, and still have the same effect.

Rita Hayworth also influenced the times and style with her clothes and hair style here. I have a old passport of my mom from this time and she has my older brother on her knee and shes wearing that big hair style, and looking gorgeous ❤

I think this film was extraordinarily frank, given the time in which it was made, and Rita Haworth was unbelievably lovely. I love watching her dancing with Fred Astaire too - she was so talented.

They all fell in love with Gilda but woke up with Rita

At least give credit to where it's due. It was Rita herself who said that.

That would’ve been fine with me

Staine’s hair in Moulin rouge was nothing like Rita’s hair in ‘Gilda’. Red hair with a side part and loose waves does not make it true to Rita hayworths hair.
