I saw this movie when I was 18. I worked in the Fire/EMS field when I turned 22. There’s many truths to this film. I stopped working as a Paramedic when I turned 34. One of the best life choices I made Awesome movie. Most calls had been chronic medical conditions, overdoses and trauma due to stabbing, shootings, assaults.

I watched this with my buddy "Irish Mike" when i was about the same age. He became fire/ems not long after that.

“Save the lives of the people I couldn’t by writing it down” beautiful. One of my favorite movies of all time.

I used to have the poster for this on my wall and the soundtrack criminally underrated imo especially among those who call themselves Cage fans even his ex wife Patricia plays opposite him.

I thought it was an interesting social commentary on healthcare too maybe ahead of it's time but now more cities are experiencing being overwhelmed the way New York was represented as being in this film. Maybe that is why it was not popular too unpleasant and realistic certainly had a great cast director soundtrack etc. I saw it in the theatre I was only twenty in 99 so it had a big screen Scorsese effect on me the way viewers maybe felt about Taxi Driver when it came out, gritty.

I seen this movie when it came out and loved it, I was wanting to watch it again yesterday and I can't find it anywhere, it's available to buy on prime for $15, but I'm not paying that!
