Martin Short on Letterman was one of those guests that was like an old friend stopping by. Steve Martin and Bill Murray are two other examples. These kind of guests on the show made it such a joy to watch. Like hanging with old pals...just much more entertaining.

I met Martin & Paul at the BB Kings Club in NYC when Mike Smith from the Dave Clark 5 was playing there & they were sitting at a table with some friends of theirs having fun & I asked them both to sign the program & they were both very nice & signed.
