Maybe you should mention the fact that you're using an actual talkbox. A lot of people think you're using the vocoder, which doesn't sound as clear.

@@MartinRossChronicles obviously I can tell the difference between the sounds, that's my point - you're making out that setting it to an init patch will give you the sound you're making. Which it won't. It won't sound anything like that because you're using extra FX that you don't mention. It would be like if I said "check out my great guitar tone, which you can get by adjusting the eq knobs" but without mentioning that I have an entire pedal board offscreen. If you don't get that, maybe KZbin isn't your thing...

@Loki9689 Yes unfortunately there are no open banks you can use, if you want the original sound there is and option to reload all the preloaded data!

only recently purchased this synth....being new to the midi style synths (as my last keyboard synth i had was a Roland Juno 106 over 16 yrs ago) it has been quite a learning curve for me....was able straight away to create great sounds but could not get them to save....from your video here i managed it straight away so thanks a lot pal, you've saved me a lot of frustration lol now if you have any helpful advice in linking it up to Korgs XL sound editor i would be most grateful....cheers

Yeah, I've got a question... how did you manage to be so cool? Hah, but seriously, is there another way to play that same sounds but be able to play multiple notes rather than just monophonic tones? A lot of Roger songs have such great harmonies and I'd like to be able to do that.

man, such a pain in the ass that it doesn't have user memory.. So basically you suggest picking the category you like the least and overwriting your personal patches into there? I'm trying to make 2 custom patches for each of my tunes with the A/B switch selecting which of the 2 is being played, hopefully that's possible

@Foals4Life Ok did you make sure you selected to un protect your files what product are you using? if youre using a korg r3 software for you microkorg xl it wont work, also once you go in to the utilites it should say un portect and one you do that select the save patch, and it will save you sounds from the computer to you korg, ALSO YOU MUST HAVE MIDI OR USB CABLE PLUGGED IN TO DO THIS I WILL HAVE A VIDEO TUTORIAL NEXT WEEK ON HOW TO DO SO.

im able to figure out global and most settings but for some reason things such as turning on Filter 2 from "OFF" to ON just isnt happening . Im moving the dials and tried pushing shit but nothing , i also notice if i press down on the knobs it reacts on the lcd screen but still no change from off to on , any advice what i need to do ? i dont find info about it in the manual

how are you getting such a clean sound out of it where you can actually hear what you are saying? your not using the mic. input on the mircokorg so where is your voice going to? also you havnt got your vocoda light on, you using it in a soft synth on a computer or something?

How do you transfer some of the sounds using the computer sound editor? For instance, I downloaded the sounds for the MicroKorg and R3 etc from the korg website. I want to put a few of the sounds from the library onto mine and delete some of the other ones but I don't know how you transfer them? PLEASE HELP!

hahah i wish, but thanks! Well you can try to do it polyphonic, rather than mono. The outcome will have less quality though. When roger recorded he did separate mono tracks one harmonizing the other. think of it as a real singer harmonizing their tracks! I hop that helps!

Hi all! I'm having some problems for making my talkbox recordings sounding nice and I would like ti ask for some help... I wish someone could teach me about what i'm missing.... Ok here is the case: (First on first my apologies for my English... It sounds really a little bit crapy... :-/ sorry...) I dont know if i'm doing it wrong in the recording process, or if I have to do something specific to the talkbox track in the mix to have that "tipycal" talkbox sound (I can't find anything about "how to mix talkbox") ...Wathever i do it sounds like a toy thing... Here is my equipment: -Dunlop Heil Talkbox HT1 (with a 22watts amp) -Vst synths (massive, nexus2, sylenth and some freeware synth1, plus Cubase5 native plugins). With normal midi velocity parameters. Two or three oscilators in different octaves (patches seem to be right, they sound "phat" initially) -Behringer B-2pro (large diafragm) microphone. With SE Reflection Filter (and a homemade 1m. x 1.5m. vocal booth with acoustic pannels and blankets). Art tube compressor to power the microphone and soft compression -I play talkbox with enought volume to hear it nice and loud (like a lead vocal) but having caution not to overload it's volume and hearing too much room's ambience. (Not easy to explain this, sorry). My "vocal technique" is still poor so right now I just try some "uuoohs" and "ooaahs" and small phrases. The case is I actually don't know why my recordings sound like "thin" and "poor". A) Am I making recording mistakes?: Low or high volume?, not enougth or too much room ambience? Wrong mic (better with a dynamic mic? ... B) Is there something in the mixing process I have to do?: Doubling tracks?, autotune it?, little bit or lots of reverb?, specific modulation fx lile chorus or phasers?, concrete EQ or low/high filtering tips?, saturaton fx?, noise gate, compressor or limiter needed? ... Sorry for writting all this large explanation. Thanks for reading and again my apologies for my English. Hope some one could guide me... :) Thanks..!

Just use a sawtooth. Monophonic. With 1 voice. That's all the patch is.
