She was very beautiful, extremely talented, had a great personality, was a gifted singer, a wonderful comedienne, and a little nuts. It's easy to see why Johnny Cash was crazy about her.

Even though it's an old clip, I think the innocent humour stands up today. June was a very funny lady and Marty was a truly great singer.

DASH... Research CARTER FAMILY. Fills a lot of secrets about "AMERICANA"(what is considered as natural American from early days of the country development about 1850 to 1950). Like THE TAKE IT EASY TRAILER PARK song by KINKY FRIEDMAN(1983) about living in Los Angeles in a run down (nasty, old and lots of junk around) trailer park. Also, much earlier by CARTER FAMILY: KEEP ON THE SUNNY SIDE around 1928 which I really like 😁

Interesting, l noticed when June takes the prop pistol from the holster, her finger is never on the trigger but along the pistol's side which is a safety action. Not a big deal but it does show June is familiar with guns, knows how to handle them properly, even it was a prop.
@pinkrose5796
@pinkrose5796 4 жыл бұрын
Had to look at the footage again and you're right. The way she holds her index finger straight on the weapon is a good indicator that she's familiar with guns. Always,, act as if the gun is loaded and NEVER point it at someone unless you intend to kill them. Safety first:)

Help us get June and her sisters in the Country Music Hall of fame,I'ts such a travesty thst they're not there already. Come to the:: Induct the Carter sisters in the HOF face book page!! Help us, they were such good roll models, Lets put Country back in Country!

The Country Music Hall of Fame is a waste of time - it's hard to believe that Slim Whitman has never been inducted (despite what Wikipedia says). Many of the inductees are not even performers - yet they leave some great performers out.
@TonySkyRush
@TonySkyRush 10 жыл бұрын
DelTangBrav Yea, I agree with you on Slim Whitman, He should be inducted as well. The Carter Sisters just entertained from birth until they passed, all in a 5 year span. They earned their way on to the Grand Ole Opry where they were the highest paid act for a while. We loved them here in Missouri when they played with Chet Atkins at KWTO radio in Springfield . They were a lot of peoples only entertainment without TV at the time. They were so talented and nice. They literally put smiles on peoples faces for nearly 60 years entertaining.
