I am always appreciative of ACCURATE bio tributes to musicians. This, however, is somewhat off base in several areas, being only directionally correct. The narrator also needs to be familiar with material before committing to the recording. Mispronounced words throughout. Would be a good narrative if the audio was accurately redone. This version is not good.
@manifestgtr3 жыл бұрын
So you’re gonna write out that entire soliloquy then provide nothing in the way of “specifically” correct information instead of the “directionally” correct things mentioned here? Your only contribution is to say that this bio is not good and that’s that...you see what I’m saying here?
@geneholdway88363 жыл бұрын
@@manifestgtr Good Morning Sir - First, thank you for reading and responding. I do both see and understand your response and, in hindsight, realize I should have all been more detailed. As a true fan of all versions of the Carter Family and The Cash family, I was dissappointed with the inaccuracies that stood out and it was not narrated or edited well. Some of things I saw included: - Ezra Carter, June's father, is credited as being a country music performer. Ezra was not a performer at any time that I can document, though he did manage later versions of the Carter Family. - The video credits June as being the innovator of the "Carter Scratch" style of guitar. This is inaccurate. Maybelle developed this approach to guitar long before June's birth. Maybelle remains one of my guitar heros and never got the credit for her influence that she deserves. - The narration/editing says that Johnny and June's son's name was "Johnny Carter Cash" - a small inaccuracy but names matter to all of us. His name is JOHN Carter Cash. Then, multiple missprounounced words such as "nuptials", Herdsonville (Hendersonville, Summer County (SUMNER County). All this in a 4-5 video about one of the most influential families in all of country music. I felt like they deserved better. Stay Well and keep your guitar in tune!

You have such logic in how you think, I love it. It's difficult to say that even if Johnny had done the right thing and not cheated, that his Marriage could have been ended amicably. Pity they had to hurt Johny first family to be together. However they seems to have a great love. She had a good life. I don't see a tragic ending to her life. We all have to leave the Earth sometime. May she RIP 🙏🌹

Yeah that wasnt right. Johnny's family didn't deserve that or June's either. I guess about the only thing they could have done was ask for divorce before the affairs. Sometimes people marry the first time and it's a mistake, but I'm glad these two stuck together. And it was hard from what I hear. Marriage is not for the faint of heart, even if there is love between you.

@graceclark34812 жыл бұрын
@@simonacland9028 there was one memoir " the man in Black" that Johnny wrote Vivian refused to give Johnny a divorce for a long time because she was Catholic. According to him it was in one of their fights over his touring and how he was pursuing the music lifestyle rather than his family. In both of his autobiographies, Johnny felt that Vivian was not so supportive of his career after a while, and they fought more and more. Sounds like Johnny's priorities became different once he became a musician. Sometimes it's hard to say what we will do when we finally achieve a dream we've always had. I mean who would have thought Johnny Cash would become so big so fast? I don't think the small town Arkansas Johnny was prepared for the downsides of Fame. But I agree, the cheating was wrong. I noticed it was a pattern of his before he even met his wife, he would talk about the women that he picked up as a soldier.

There aren't any gods, there is Only One True God Our Lord and God Jesus Christ. Come to Him and He will forgive you the years of lunacy, ignorance, stupidity, Blindness & satanism of unbelief with its darkness and Blasphemy, sin, filth and foolishness, and He will raise you from the spiritual death that you languish in as He raised Lazarus from the dead by The Power of His Divinity.

Her parents are music legends as the Carter Family. Their music had a profound impact on bluegrass, country, Southern Gospel, pop and rock musicians as well as on the U.S. folk revival of the 1960s. Please correct.

Her life sounds rather full and not tragic. I recently watched an interview on KZbin with Johnny Carson. She was a real hoot and lively character. She may have had ups and downs but her faith and character carried her through. We humans are not perfect but our faith in our Creator makes us perfect in the end.

Very true Jane. It seems like a lot of people want a perfect human being and can't handle it when they make mistakes. Making mistakes doesn't make you a bad person. And it doesn't make me love them any less. In fact, the fact that they were so open and honest about their stumbles makes me appreciate them even more. I miss that generation, I miss the simpler times with Johnny and June

Watch “my darling Vivian” a very honest and amazing documentary of his marriage to his first wife Vivian, as told by their 4 daughters. Vivian is still alive, and a beautiful courageous woman. They loved each other til the end of his life, and he was very remorseful about his contribution to the destruction of their marriage. They forgave each other long before he died.
