Chris Scruggs is excellent too. These 4 brilliant & talented men make the best of one another. I've been playing & performing ( guitar: acoustic & electric, lead vocals & harmonies, blues harp ) nearly all of my life. I'm 100% self-taught. Started playing harmonica & singing when I was only 6 years old. Started singing & playing guitar by age 13. I performed all over east/central Florida for decades in various groups, as well as acoustic duos & solo acoustuic act. I'm now 63 yrs old and I still perform by myself. With all of this being said, I am convinced that Marty Stuart & the Fabulous Superlatives are the tightest & greatest band on earth today, without question........and they pull it all off with a bare minimum of gear. THAT is truly special.

I did not know until recently that, when he was 12 or so, he saw Connie Smith in concert. He thought she was so incredibly beautiful, that he rizzed her up as best he could, despite a 17 year age gap, and told his mom that he would marry her some day. At 39 years old, he did.
