Saw Marty in concert at Cromer a couple of years back, I had never seen him live before, and wasn't sure what to expect? Was this a star of times gone by, simply doing the circuit and cashing in on his name? Well to say I was astonished is an understatement! Bearing in mind he was in his 70's at the time, I had to pinch myself at his performance. What a great singer and entertainer, he sang like a guy half his age, and could still hold the top notes in "Jezebel" I'm now wishing I had been to see him before, and a special mention for the Wildcats, who were also fabulous. Can't wait to see him again. Stay safe Marty, you are a National treasure.

I realky enjoy this performance. As a teenager in the late fifties and very early sixties I played Marty's records a lot and still do. My favourites were Danny Boy, Sea of Love and Bad Boy.

I got drunk one night with Marty Wilde he was very down to earth with no pretensions. As for the fame thing I think he became dated and that made things difficult - no reason to stop. All the early British rockers were pioneering from Scratch there was no huge established cultural mix to use like the US which had a diversity of styles. Rock and Roll in the US mixed with the established music - Country, Blues, Do Wop etc which weren't well known in the UK. Eventually we developed our own style.

Iam surprised Marty Wilde is still going after all these years ..Did he actually have any hits of his own. He struggled for many years while Cliff was still topping the charts doing any Labor Club that would still book him, while singing hits that other people made famous. Not only did he copy he tried Impersonating..May I say have to listening to the originals Rather Poorly.

He had a good run of hits from ‘57 to ‘63 then, wrote hits for Lulu (I’m A Tiger), The Casuals (Jesamine), and Quo (Ice In The Sun), then in the 80s wrote hits for Kim (Kids In America and Cambodia) among others...oh yeah, and in the mid 60s he also helped discover Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues!!

@@joeblack8915 Well being a musician myself I don't think I need my ears cleaned. The only reason you would think Marty Wilde was better than the original is you have to be a Brit. I can't say nothing good comes from the UK because you had the beatles. But before that you had nothing but cheap knock offs of wannabee Elvis Presley"s. Sorry Marty Wilde happened to be one of them who actually sings flat quite a bit. I saw him(Marty Wilde) in 1976 he was playing Chorley Labor Club in Lancashire. Cliff Richard changed with the times and was still having number one records because he didn't steal other peoples material. And I will give Cliff Richard one thing, Vocally he adapted to the songs he sang. You don't pack out Wembley stadium 50 years later by being bad.
