Noel Gallagher actually said that he came up with Wonderwall when he was messing around on the guitar, playing Wish You Were Here. There's so, so much more to Oasis than Wonderwall. They have an amazing catalogue that gets overshadowed by Wonderwall because it was such a big hit. Anyone interested should check out: Cigarettes and Alcohol, The Masterplan, Live Forever, Champagne Supernova, (and I know this is going to be very controversial, because a lot of fans don't like it, probably because Noel hates it since it was dedicated to his ex wife) Sunday Morning Call, Whatever Going Nowhere, Rockin' Chair, Lyla etc (and a lot of those songs are B-sides). Such an amazing catalogue.

​@@breakmynoseYeah, Noel hates it and a lot of fans do too (I think a lot of them just want to agree with Noel, though obviously there are people who just dislike it). There was an album of all Oasis singles and Noel asked for it to be left out. I think it was in the end. Have you listened to the acoustic version of the song, on KZbin? It's brilliant. Noel on Top of the Pops (watch out though cause there's a TOPT Sunday Morning Call where they just play the album version, but the live version is brilliant). People in the comments section of those songs say the same things I'm saying about it being hated by Noel and fans. I don't get it - best song on that album (which admittedly wasn't the best). There's also another version of them playing it live, with Noel playing as Telecaster (which is as rare as him singing that song, haha).

It’s an interesting thought but of course they aren’t the same song. Even if they shared the same chords in the same order they wouldn’t be the same song.
