I've been practicing the different pentatonic positions feverishly, trying to train both my fingers, and ear. This video gives some awesome practice to spice up these basic concepts, as well as practicing matching the bends with the natural ones. Thanks Marty! You rock!

Hey Marty! I completely love your stuff and honestly thank you I don't think I could have improved so much during the 6 months of my guitar learning without your help! I have a little (well huge to me) request to ask you:) do you think you could do a guitar lesson of "Here I am" by Brian Adams? There none on youtube except easy ones and I'm really looking forward to the fingerpicking version of the song instead on the strumming one... I don't think there would be anyone better than you to present this beautiful song to the world of youtube!:)) thanks again

Great recognizable lick. It blew everyone away in recent the live stream with your brother. There are some more cool licks in "After Midnight" that would be fun to learn and I'm looking forward to "All Along The Watchtower" pt2.!!

Hi Marty. How about breaking down some of Mike Bloomfield's speedy licks in Paul Butterfield Blues Band's "Blues With A Feeling"? Lots of Johnny Winter, Jimmy Page, James Burton sounds coming thru.
@larrygeetar93097 жыл бұрын
+golfalot1 I, too, would love to see a breakdown of Bloomfield's licks. He was my first blues lead guitar hero. My college roommate had the first Butterfield album (1965) and it opened me up to electric, Chicago blues. Bloomfield's sound and style was powerful and ground breaking. He is one of those guitar players who you can figure out what he's playing, but you will never sound like him. Unique style and amazing amount of influences in his work. Don't forget about his playing on the first Electric Flag album, either. Les Paul and Twin reverb in all its glory. Texas (I just got in from Texas, baby / And you didn't even know my name) is some of the best electric blues playing on record. Unfortunately, Mike Bloomfield is somewhat of an afterthought for the 21st Century.
@golfalot17 жыл бұрын
Hi Larry. Agree with all your comments. If anybody can pull off such a lesson it's Marty! Note cramming like Johnny Winter...then those twitchy picked triplets like Page, Burton, and Danny Gatton. Tests your technique to the limits...but that's how amazing Mike Bloomfield was.
@jakobkammeraad13137 жыл бұрын
Hey Marty, what approach do you prefer if we want to make requests? Is it best to just leave it in the comments? If so, learning Ramble Tamble from CCR would be AWESOME!
