One good movie cannot save an entire franchise. That is what people need to understand. They need to have a continuously good lineup of movies and shows in order to truly save a franchise. But Deadpool 3 could very well be the first movie in that lineup, especially with marvel reshooting all of their projects and basically starting from scratch post Deadpool 3.

I saw Captain Marvel opening Friday in LA. Seriously, there were no more than 20 in the theater room including myself and my ex. I was surprised to hear the $1B claim because it absolutely sounded like crap.

Deadpool 3's potential to be good would be a standalone feat. It won't have an effect on all the missteps Disney has taken, and has doubled down on continuing to take everywhere else.

good points. I think that Marvel still has a future, but the execs need to allow the creative minds who made it a hit the freedom to do it again. This means people like Kathleen Kennedy, and others like her, need to stop using it as a social experiment, and allow directors and writers like Jon Favreau, Whedon, Gunn, Waititi, the Russos, and others to explore the "space" without being tied down to social media pressures.

It was the volume, they watered the market down with to much superhero stuff. Marvel movies use to be an event every 2-3 years that people got hype for and went to the theaters to experience that vibe. They put out to many shows with subpar superheroes that most people knew nothing about or cared nothing for. Always remember “Quality over Quantity”

Hand the MCU to the Russo Brothers and give them script approval on everything and they pick directors for anything they don't direct themselves. They do X-men saga super well while supervising Blade, Ghost Rider, Midnight sons etc (all R and super dark and grimy). Avengers etc. goes to the back burner. Cross over characters where appropriate, i.e. Wanda and Dr. Strange in Midnight Sons saga.

That’s the thing man: our entertainment is supposed to be entertainment & escapism. When the escapism becomes actors on a red carpet talking about “diversity and/or representation” it’s just more of the sameness we are bombed with daily. I just finished Monarch on Apple. Good enuf. Started Invasion on Apple, and it was ANOTHER Japanese Lesbian female lead character and my mind just went “Nope.” The odds of 2 scifi shows with Asian Lesbian Female leads as the MAIN character, it’s like winning the lottery twice. It’s absurd storytelling contrivance.

They need to slow down on the girl power movie themes. The only men they have in Marvel movies and TV adaptations are villains. The good guys are often portrayed as simps, who spend the whole movie apologizing to women for one thing or another. They started doing this at the end of the Thor movies, Guardians, and Avengers, now it's a uncontrollable monster. The funny thing is the demographic for Marvel hasn't changed much from the 70's, it's mainly males ages 12 to 45. If you aren't appealing to your demographic, then what is the point? A great question for Disney execs.
