It definitely feels like a show they could do each year with different ideas, even if they’re original or from the comics. Like the mech suit idea, that’s one of the most dumb-fun ideas they could have came up with and I love it! Even long after the multiverse saga is done, they could keep doing what if and just have fun with it. Like get a bunch of writers, throw them into a room with no windows, and say “have fun”. And that’s it lol

This show has multiversal battles. And the next multiversal battle after this is Doomsday in 2026. We're getting closer to it, so they're giving some breathing room before it, by not making another season next holiday that would be months away from Doomsday. And after Secret Wars, the theme isn't multiverse anymore. The series won't fit in the next theme

What If has always have multiversal battles. And the next one is Doomsday in 2026. If there's a 4th season next holiday, Doomsday would have been months away. That's a lack of breathing room. So they're stopping this year. And after Secret Wars, it's not the multiverse saga anymore. The series won't fit
