thats was only explained in the Prequel comic for Thor: The Dark World, just like how the tv shows explain some stuff not explained in the movies, the tie in comics for the movies do the same.

One thing that needs to be mentioned when Odin put the spell on the hammer the symbol appeared on the hammer as he spoke the words of the spell was the symbol on the Front cover of the book of shadows in the series charmed.

In the ‘80’s, peter’s mother was screwed by a space god, got cancer, put there by the space god, got abducted by yandu by the space god. Ya dude kept him. In 2012-ish, Peter and the rest of the guardians linked up, got a purple stone, did a mission for someone, stole some batteries, got chased to ego, to meet the space god, who is peter’s dad. Everything goes pearshaped, yandu dies. A few months later, they do to a distress signal, pick up Thor, go to the place to get the axe, get the axe. At the same time, some go to titan, fight Thanos, get snapped. Rocket is the only one who survives the snap.
