Best book on marvel EVER written! The last chapter for next edition should be interesting, to say the least.

One of the best books ever written on a particular business. Sort of a non-fiction version of Mann's Buddenbrooks. The interesting thing is that this innovative business never really figured out how to keep peace with its largely independent contractor work force. (Oddly, many of the cases cited about what can go wrong with relationships with independent contractors in NY Jur. are cases involving comic book creators.)

Yes. I was going to say that and thought...why be an asshole lol. Anyway, I'm going to listen to the book on audible. I hope you were nice to Ditko. He deserved it.

Great book. Is there something similar about DC though?

Excellent, thank you! Completely agree about the marvel universe being the largest collective work of fiction/mythology in all of human history. I'd love to read your book but i just discovered that scans of old comics are available by torrent, so maybe in a few years :)

Save your money. Jack "King" Kirby = The mind behind Marvel Comics. Stan "The Man" Lee = The Mascot of Marvel Comics. Long live the King ;)

@@toyhunter2903 Not exactly. In fact, he not only worked until his dying day, and made time for as far as I can see it-thousands of fans over the years, who visited him and wrote him letters-he was a recluse only as it regarded the people who used and abused him.
