I love Dorm and have fun running Dorm, but I agree power creep has highly overshadowed him and he needs a rework. I do think this will happen, though, just a matter of time. Dorm/Hood/Bill is a fantastic 15 threat for E maps or similar middle brawls, especially demons where half your team is immune to incinerate. Both Dorm and Bill are immune to bleed which means hood can heal them without worrying about the special condition. Lizard is a great tank to add in as a 3, and deadpool is a great yolo character you throw in deep enemy lines with the intent to revive afterwards since he is better on his injured side. I've played Dorm teams where the whole focus was buffing Dorm, and teams where everyone was meant to play on their own. Both have valid uses. Also, Black Swan is disgusting as a bruiser in the DD affiliation. Same with Valkyrie on a smaller scale. BUT The meme team is where it's at. E maps with Dorm, HB, and support to just camp the middle of the board. Dorm and other high threat characters to ignore objs and focus on tabling your opponent. Does it work all the time? No. Is it fun as hell to run Dorm and CGR + supports? Absolutely. She Hulk/Dorm/Mordo/Hood is a 20 threat team that makes it impossible to kill dorm, but ignoring him means a lot of damage can come your way. For the balance argument, I would rather them buff him to be a true 8 than just lower his threat to match his card. I want Dorm's towering model to inspire fear and urgency in the opponent rather than just a big target. Also, Dark empowerment should either also be a reactive to steal power from enemy's attacks, or have multiple uses, like other TTCs that can return to your hand. Otherwise I agree it's very underwhelming.

Using Dark Restoration to bring back Zemo within reroll range is kinda fun. Hood for the heals is a fun combo too. It would be nice if he was a 6/7 threat perhaps with counting skulls in defence and dodge too, the same as CGR. The combo I've run quite a few times is Hulk with him and using gamma launch to chuck him into the middle board to be able to double attack first turn and force people to start dealing with him, especially on map E missions.

He is fun to play but lacks on the competitive side. Reduce the threat or better yet let him hit harder. 7 dice vs 6 would be huge.

The real dormammu strat is to take Howling Commandos to jump him in turn 1, them have him smash + dark empowerment to throw a 6-10 die attack that builds for a friendly character like Black Bolt or Bill or Iron Fist

I use him with Bob and Wong ive been able to consistently launch Bobs missle twice each game

The way I tried to run him was with Zemo for rerolls and Crimson Dynamo for defense. But then I had 2 characters supporting a support. The lack of a throw is super bad for him. He needs reliable triggers and perhaps an energy sap. I also wonder if you give him more dice the more he is damaged like Hulk could help. I'd like to keep playing him, but I agree he is a slog in this current game.
