Me and a friend were discussing the Issue of Malekith™ the other day and the general points we kept agreeing on is that he is a bit overtuned and probably should lose the no modify or to change the timing so you can't explode crits. But the most part the agreement is that he does have a lot of counters but he's someone who, in your list, you HAVE to have a plan to deal with. He's essentially a gatekeeper to the more competitive side of the hobby in that if you cannot deal with him then you'll never place well in a tournament. To use an equivalency, in Warhammer40k there's a similar army type called Knights (which covers both Imperial and Chaos). And it is an army list that your army has to have a plan for or otherwise it will just lose to it. In casual games it's often considered good manners to let your opponent know you're bringing them so that they aren't blindsided and end up playing a very one-sided game. To us, Malekith is essentially that character, where if you're playing casual, you should definitely let your opponent know you're bringing Malekith. My own personal stance is that anything that you need to warn your opponent about before the game so they don't have a bad time, is an issue and needs fixing.

This is by farthe biggest problem with Malekith. He is a meta shaper model. Just him being in the meta makes it so that people need to bring answers to him.

I think Magneto is A even though he doesn’t get splashed. In faction he really is that good. Hulkbuster is definitely not a D. I can see C even though he’s punched me up enough to think of him as a B.

He suffer massively from being displaced and with range 3 he is easy enough to be basically useless or at least have only one attack action per turn. He us not bad but fir 6 threat he is very easy to counter.

Post Malekiths release dormammu is very solidly in D, and hulkbuster is definitely not D tier. He's perfectly functional, even if his suit summon ability is a waste of card space. Buster is hard to fit in rosters, but he's functional so I wouldn't give him the D. If you let people reroll against mal he drops to C. He just becomes dormammu with lower numbers and 4 fewer hit points but without the long range game plan. You can't let characters reroll against 7+ threat characters, rerolling is too strong. I wish Thanos just had a better card and didn't get the gem powers for free. It makes him so one dimensional.

Doctor Strange CAN use the time stone for free? Am I missing something? Eye of Agamoto is free and allows Strange to re roll all of his attack or defence dice, once per attack. Time Gem costs 2 power and only lets him re roll on attacks, but makes opponent re-roll Both allow re-roll skulls Of the two abilities, surely Agamoto is better as it's free to use and doesn't cost you an extra Threat?

Feel like there’s a lot of hate for Hulkbuster when you guys normally LOVE throws and he can throw size 4, plus his spender prevents power Gen and you’re normally raving about power

I think the general problem is his tech as a whole. He can be an absolute beast of a kit was some good control. But when he’s flipped on his injured/iron man side, he becomes a bit of a detriment as he’s still a 6 threat character that plays like a 2 threat who your opponent might feel inclined to ignore.

Haven't watched yet, I didn't realize how hit and miss some of these are. So my guess is hulk and malekith are going to make the s tier, she hulk and space maw in A with a version or two of thanos. Magneto on his own in b maybe with hulk buster, And the rest of the gemmed characters in d tier. Space gem maw is insane, he can teleport 2 double tap with a range 4 attack and has enough energy to throw an up to size 4 building every turn unless he gets poisoned or stunned. Obviously the opportunity cost of a gem is high but the space gem really opens up his threat range and damage.

Malaketh is an ass and i do not like him becouse you either have to build against him or have him. This May cause powercreep that plague wh40k for example. Not a healthy thing fir this game.
