No. Movies are made for audience, not audience for movies. And the biggest audience is general audience who didn't liked the movie. If you're saying that BvS is masterpiece, then I will say no. Don't get offended. TDK was masterpiece but BvS was not. Why ? Because general audience didn't liked BvS. BvS had stupid screenplay and that Martha Mom scene is totally disgusting. And most importantly light theme is what attracts more people than Dark. Why? Because light tone is more realistic. Those who say Dark means realism are living in another world. The Shawshank Redemption is the greatest movie of all time, but in no ways it's dark (both plot wise and tone wise it's light). Forrest Gump, The Matrix, The Shining, Titanic, etc are some of the greatest movies of all time, but they're not dark. Even TDK was not dark.
