John Walker is what happens when the government forces a soldier with PTSD into a role with the literal weight of the world on top of it. And then, the serum. Which, as Erskine said, amplifies everything. You take all that doubt, all that PTSD, then crank it to 11. Steve Rogers was a good man who hadn't faced the horrors of war. John Walker was a good man who suffered the tragedies of war, THEN they forced him to be Captain America. And nobody could live up to Steve Rogers. That's why Sam took the symbol and made it his own, instead of trying to be Steve 2.0, because that was never going to work.

So the dora are allowed to be wherever they want but john can't because of "realism"😅
@Nonstopviewer8 ай бұрын
@@JamesBauer-sl4vw Come on now, use your basic comprehension here. John, though under the mantle of Captain America, isn't "freelance" like Steve was and operates under and through proper American military channels, even more so with him being so high profile. This was even touched on within this very show with Sam making the point that they couldn't afford to be tied down by the red tape he has to deal with. The Dora Milaje not only operate in secret as an elite force but also through subterfuge and not under the same rules as America. Everything doesn't revolve around how America does things, especially in comics. John was able to do be in so many scenes to force the plot but if they had applied your "realism" it would have been him trying to get clearance to go overseas and get sent out to do each mission on top of being hamstrung by always being called back because of PR fears. Hence why they bounced his ass so quick after what happened later. He was a useful tool but only a figurehead and poster boy. Just a little more free to move than Steve was during his war bonds tours.

This is without doubt one of the best MCU created shows.Following Avengers Endgame and Spider-Man Far From Home in 2019, we finally reached the culmination of the 10yr journey (plan) and it showed. Everything tied together very well and the purpose of watching those movies was clear. With a year out for COVID, in 2021 I feared we would lose the quality of the MCU when adding Disney+ shows. But WandaVision, Falcon & The Winter Solider and Loki actually made me think I was wrong. Perhaps the MCU could keep the brilliant content coming and not sacrifice quality for quantity. Sadly, IMO, its after these shows in 2021 when the MCU began is very quick decline. I’m unsure if we’ll get back to these quality nuanced and layered stores of brilliant characters that make you either love them or hate them. P.S - Wyatt Russell did a GREAT JOB, getting everyone to hate his Captain America, very well acted.
@jimballard1186 Жыл бұрын
If I understand the timetables correctly, the shows you praised were mostly finished before COVID, and the shows (and movies) you're not a fan of began filming during/after COVID. That's a huge factor in quality; but I hope no one reads that to mean that the circumstances of production excuse the quality of the final product rather than explaining it.
