At this point, the reality is abundantly clear that Hasbro just puts characters on whatever available mold they have. They (mostly) don't make new molds to better suit the character design, because that takes money. And they won't even try too hard to find the best mold in their factory to match a character's physique or design, because that mold might be used by another figure also currently in production. They'll just use whatever is convenient for their production pipeline to save the most money and eek out the most profit. That's Hasbro.

It's actually completely logical. The designers are only allowed a set budget per wave, so in order to allocate so much new tooling and plastic real estate to Spiral, they cut corners with the other figures, especially this one.

Need this Avalanche to go with Pyro and Blob. Same reason I got the Hobgoblin rerelease to complete the Spidey villain. Very few characters left on the want list. No reason to buy additional obscure characters when Hasblow half ass them and sell them for close to $30

I noticed with this entire wave everyone has a lot of red in the lips. Dark Phoenix and Spiral are fine to have red in the lips, but not Avalanche, Muliple Man or Longshot. I really only bought Spiral from this wave. I already have the Mojoworld Longshot so I think I would only get the other figures in this wave if they were discounted. Phoenix keeps selling out everywhere too

Every silver plastic part looks like a beginner's custom sculpt. It's a shame what Marvel Legends has become. I used to love the Toy Biz figures, they weren't the best looking thing ever a lot of times, but they had some sort of love put into them. They weren't completely soulless pieces.

My only knowledge of the character comes from X-Men Evolution, so I don’t really care that much about this look’s accuracy. Mostly I would like a face other than “totally bored”. This might be my first custom, tearing the helmet off that stupid head and maybe adding the extra head from the retro Sandman. Only if I get it on clearance. I preordered this for 25 and then looked a little closer and cancelled all of my preorders for the wave.

Thanks for the review. That figure is the definition of mediocre for me. I actually cancelled my pre-order when I started to see the actual physical figure and learned he only had two extra hands. And obviously, they saved money on this guy to have a better Spiral. That Avalanche is not even comic accurate. Very good idea to show a collage of other versions of the character, perhaps a feature that could be used in other reviews, especially when the likeness is lacking. To answer your question of the day, basically any other version of Avalanche with a bloody A somewhere would have been better than what we got. Heck, I would have happily taken the figure portrayed on the box with that helmet and the attitude any day of the week.

My right bicep tore right off after two poses... would do the screw fix. But the shoulder is too sunken in so it doesn't move. Worst Hasbro figure I've purchased in years and I kinda need him for my budding Brotherhood setup. But don't wanna purchase again, this freaking blows as I was really looking forward to him. The plastic across Legends and Joes lines are failing.

If they wanted the body to be reusable, they could have at least painted the A on his chest. If Anthony made a new Avalanche head, would it fix this figure? I remember the character hanging out with Pyro in the animated series, but I'm not a fan. He didn't have any stand out comments for me.

I really don't like the headsculpt (he looks more Asian than Greek), and I don't think he's muscular enough. Then the terrible accessories, yeesh. I'm a character collector, I like to have new characters in my collection, but I think I'm passing on this one. Hasbro is the king of inconsistency👑

I'm a bit surprised - imo, 6/10 is too much for this dude. More like a 4/10. He's plain boring, looks like cosplay, missing details. I think he's worse than Darwin (and we need a "worse than Darwin" benchmark going forward!). At least Darwin had great headsculpt and hands. It's more interesting to look at

Pretty much a lazy release. I'm not a fan of Avalanche, but would have been nice to get a good figure to fill out my villain roster. Easy pass for me. I did see a customizer in Japan that removed the head underneath the helmet and gave him a new face. If I see it for $10...maybe...just maybe...and thats a big maybe- fodder?

they put all the money and concentration. On the spiral figure which is the best figure on this wave that's how you should review it. not on emotional rants and opinions on this figure the figure is not that bad but not good either. its inn between for the price for this avalanche figure it should have been made shorter. and kind of thicker not slim. and tall because inn the comics Hes five foot seven not six feet tall. Hes a short thick character. Hasbro has enough information on their hands about each character. of marvel and should have put the effort for this avalanche figure from it. but didn't. they put all on the spiral figure. like feminist simps. another thing what's with the red lipstick lips on these male figures currently is what we need to not overlook. too they need to stop it. its queer. looking at these head sculps lips these days. but the avalanche figure. is not so bad but not spectacular .as it could have been.
