The Beetle debuted in the "Human Torch" segment of Strange Tales #123 (August 1964) with the original incarnation Abner Jenkins using the first armor. This version was beaten by the Thing and Human Torch. This version would used until the character switched to the second armor in Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man #59 (October 1981) (which is most associated with the name) and would be in use until Thunderbolts #1 (April 1997) when Jenkins's alter ego was changed to MACH-1. A new version debuted in Thunderbolts #35 (February 2000). This version resembled a walking tank and would be used by Jenkins and the second incarnation Leila Davis. This version was crushed by Graviton, killing Davis who was still inside at the time. After Davis's death, the Beetle armor would go unused until Thunderbolts #103 (August 2006) when all three versions were stolen and used by three college students. How, why and exactly when the third version of the armor was rebuilt was not made clear. The individual names of these characters were not revealed. There ya go shartimus

Yeah, those "pegs" on his shoulders aren't functional. They are just sculpted in to look like armor rivets. It's a bad decision because they do look like cheap figure pegs.

This version of the Beetle was a member of Egghead's Masters of Evil during Hank Pym's fall from grace circa Avengers Vol. 1 issue 230; Hank takes electronic control of Beetle's armor, sending the villain careening out of control until he crashes straight into Thor's hammer.

Try superglue. Add a little to the joints and start spinning them, otherwise they will stay at one place and you will never be able to move them again.

Ex Nihilo is just a Hyperion body figure. The Hyperion body is not designed to be assembled as a BAF. Neither is the Colossus body mold that Death's Head II uses. Mantis was an entirely new figure that they had to design anyways, and they needed a BAF, so they just engineered the new figure to be the BAF.

This Armored Beetle at some point was upgraded with Stolen Stark Tech, which was why he was targeted by Iron Man during the Armor Wars Plot Line.
