Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor while maintaining appropriate language for all ages, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

If it were me I would have used ball hinges and interchangeable options similar to the way the figuarts frieza tail is. So the tentacles would articulate at the base. It would come with 4 supporting tentacles that are designed to have him be supported up like he is crawling on buildings or just standing around. 2 grabbing tentacles for choking spidey and 4 action tentacles flailing around. Tbh I always found the tentacles frustrating to pose due to the bendy wire being hard to make him stand up like his arms are raising him up at least for me.

I’ve never been beaten before!” Therefore, Doc Ock is considered the first villain to beat Spider-Man. Peter takes the loss so poorly that he contemplates giving up on being Spider-Man altogether, stating, “I’m a failure! Spider-Man is a joke…a nothing!” (Although he only thinks this way for like 3 pages before the human torch gives a big speech about how heroes never give up, which makes him realize he can’t give up on being Spider-Man just because he lost.)

Battle Frame Studios Hasbro is notorious for reusing molds, that’s why I don’t collect Marvel Legends, aside from the fact that I don’t collect 6 inch figures. Hasbro are lazy with the Marvel Legends figures, it’s EXTREMELY rare for any new body molds to come out.

I LOVE the classic look of this figure. I just opened mine the other day and while I love it, I was disappointed that the tentacles are not bendable. Such a missed opportunity by Hasbro. Currently having a really hard time getting great poses I expected to get when I purchased him. Anyway, I still love the figure!

I’ve been really really excited to get this one, but that’s mostly because I thought the tentacles were bendable. The absolutely amazing body mold was going to be icing on this villainous cake, but the non-bendable tentacles is an definite deal breaker, unfortunately. :/

Also heard he wanted to play a villain in the mcu and tried out for the vulture role so it seems like we have a great chance for him to play some one. my guess on going cheap with the lack of articulated tentacles is the pressure on the figure design teams to output a high amount of figures in such short time. This year was absolutely crazy with the amount of MLs released.

Wow I'm impressed, I'm a big Spidey Fan, and this Doc Ock might be my first Marvel Legens ever! I still need a Spiderman figure. Still waiting for a really good Hobogoblin and Green Goblin. and other Spidey villains!! Fantastic review Shartimus, I think you've convinced me to buy this figure when I never thought I would ever buy a Marvel Legends. I guess my only issues is his tentacles come out his sides in the comic but this figure has them coming out of his back, but I do realize having them come out his side is basically impossible on this figure.

Just like most collectors out there, I'm also disappointed that this figure does not have bendy wires in the tentacles. I was hoping they would, but know all we need is for Hasbro to put out a Classic Adrian Toomes Vulture to complete my original Sinister-Six display!

I had an old Doc Ock that came with a lab coat and clear glasses but don't know what it's called. The bendy wires were too stiff and tore the tentacles at their bases and that made me a sad kid.
