While I like this Psylocke better than the SDCC 2012 one that I have, I do like the SDCC versions hair better. And maybe the SDCC version's sash as well. I was able to pick this up for $65 in May of 2022 btw. *Edit:* I was wondering what the heck those smoke things were. The smoke for Fantomex's guns. Mystery solved.

I do dig some evil robots! That Nimrod looks soooooo cool. I'll have to pick it up. Funny how a month ago, I didn't know a whole lot about the X-Men, but ever since I started watching the animated series on Disney Plus, a bunch of my favorite heroes and villains are from that series. I just finished my first build-a-figure (Sugar Man) and now I've immediately got my sights on Nimrod.

I'm really liking how that "new" Psylocke looks more "Asian," still a reuse is still a reuse, pricey one at that. Shame Nimrod doesn't have that much articulation (that's expected from that large chunk of plastic). Will probably wait for the price to drop. Thanks for the fun intros and reviews!

If you think about it in terms of 2 $20 figures plus a $40 BAF, it seems to check out. Would I like it to be cheaper? Sure. But to add a villain to the X-shelf, and to round out my Rick Remender Uncanny X-Force display, I can dig the cut of this jib.

Nimrod has been high on my wish list. I'm glad to see him in toy form. I hope at some point they issue a red and black repaint to match his X Force appearance. And I'd like to see Nimrod/Mastermold to fill that XMen arcade villain roster. That said, I see no good reason to pack him in with those two characters. They'd have sold well enough on their own. I don't feel cheated for buying this three pack because I'd have bought them eventually. But that $80 on top of all the other must haves they've been dropping this year? That hurt the wallet.

Finally, an upgraded Phantomex, X-Force suited Psylocke and Nimrod. Need a Black/Silver Archangel (same as the way pricey sdcc variant) and a X-Force Warpath and Reminders X-Force will be complete!...also $80 is too much, I feel that $69.99 was the sweet spot. It should go on clearance seeing as it’s $20 less than a Sentinel and Wolverine 😉. I’m waiting (whatever the outcome)

I have this set and got this set for the same reason you did but I have learned to love the Nimrod, mainly because like you I love big chunky figures. I kept the box because it is a great picture of psylock. I would love to know what glue you use to fix the slidey stuff.

Nimrod was always a stiff weird design. He didn't move so much as hover. They really nailed that blocky look.

I do think the new psylocke face looks a bit better than the other one because I think it looks more Korean or Japanese whatever race she is, but I do think that left eye looks a bit funky it looks a bit more raised up than the other one.

I know its a bit of work (mainly the figures needed) but you could easily make a Custom all White fantomex, just get anotherone (acetone off all the black paint from the suit), grab the hands and glove cuffs from taskmaster (comicbook version), boots from Blizzard and just repaint the belt and boot bands white (heck you could even just do away with those two since he didnt really hear those in most of the times they drew him in his all white costume)

I kinda wish Nimrod had a little more pinkish hue to this body, but otherwise, I'm happy to get a Nimrod for my X-Men shelf. And it's surprising how far along we are with the modern X-Force team now. Wolverine, X-23, Fantomex, Psylocke, Archangel, Deadpool... Just need a new improved Warpath and Wolfsbane...maybe Elixir, Vanisher, Domino if they really wanna fill out the team.

Amazingly thorough review. Thank you! My personal aesthetic preference is that the proportions on the original Fantomex head is better being smaller. I think the new head is too large for the body. The bucky cap body is perfect though. Much better than the old body.

What I remember from the comics mostly dates of future past when he was shooting his hands were always like it was shooting down like he was above you and he was shooting at you so that's kind of cool how they did that

Just seen this review, and I love the Fantomex figure. Just out of curiosity, I'm a huge fan of the 90's X-Men action figures, and my absolute favorite was the figure of Trevor Fitzroy. Have you ran across any custom figures of him? I've only ever found the original mid 90's figure of blue and yellow, with cybernetic arms. I love your reviews, and thanks for not letting me be the only adult guy that still messes with em, lol.
