This armor for War Machine never appeared in the comics, no. It's exclusive to MvC. And it's got a fun story behind it, which makes the reskin feel like more of a clever loophole than a lazy job. Although Iron Man had appeared in Capcom's previous Marvel games, by the release of MvC, the video game rights of Iron Man were tied to the development of Acclaim Entertainment's Iron Man/X-O Manowar crossover game. It seems like Iron Man and only Iron Man was off-limits, since Capcom managed to ensure the character was present in MvC in spirit by reworking him into War Machine.

About the recolored Iron Man in MVC1, I believe Activision had the rights to Iron man game appearances at the time. Capcom wanted to put Iron man in and they said no. Capcom then decided to recolor Iron man to resemble war machine.

I rememeber when I was a kid I had an iron man 3.75 inch figure and I remember I painted it black because I wanted it to look like the colors of this figure, so this figure made me remember about that, so I am definetly getting him. Nice review.

The neck is actually on a hinged ball so it can look up all the way. The only issue is that the hinge is just really tight. But that’s an issue that goes back to the original modular iron man figure

Nice looking figure. In my head it's a Stealth Modular armour for Tony. I have the Modular Iron Man from the Ursa Major baf. It has a ball joint on a hinge atop the neck with a ball joint at the base of the neck. I had to heat it up to get movement out of it. The base of the neck is still very stiff.

Having the gripping hands on this figure would have pushed me over the fence on purchasing it to at least pose with the Proton Cannon. What a simple concept to have missed that could have boosted more sales on the figure, and it's not like the sculpt for the hands don't exist. 😔😔 A total missed opportunity here and yet we receive gun holding trigger hands for characters that don't need them. 😜😜😜😜

Because of my fondness for the first MVC game, and it being my first exposure to War Machine, I love this figure more than the Other two. Also, the arms and shoulders on mine aren’t stuck and move so smooth. The other two Modular Iron Mans had a stuck right shoulder

Yeah he needed the grip hands for the cannon, let's hope there's a set of black hands that fit both him and the cannon. They did that with the Stealth Invincible Iron Man which came with generic gunmetal grey grip hands.

You could just swap with any other black griping hand from marvel legends, its not really noticeable under the cannon. its not that big of a deal.

War Machine Doesn't Need Proton Cannon He Has His Own Cannons On This Suit Bro Only iron Man Needs Becuz He Is Blast And War Machine Is Also Blast But He Has More Gun On His Chest And On His Suit So Don't Worry He Is Backup Of Iron Man
