I've been subscribed to geekvolution for several years, and this is becoming one of my favorite series on the channel. The two of you work so well together. Even when the conversation veers off topic it's still interesting. Looking forward to 20ish more commentaries!

2014 was a BIG summer! As far as geeky movies go, we got: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April), The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Edge of Tomorrow, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Guardians of the Galaxy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Sin City: A Dame to For. But that summer we got huge successes like How to Train Your Dragon 2, Neighbors, and 22 Jump Street. 2014 rocked! 2008 may still have been a more exciting year depending on what geeks you're asking: Iron Man, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Speed Racer, The Incredible Hulk, WALL-E, Hancock, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, The Dark Knight, X-Files: I Want to Believe, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars I think I may prefer 2014. Special time in my life and all that stuff. Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man were 2015. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen were 2009.

Cap, the timeline is: All the films take place when they were released except for Captain America: The First Avenger (obviously), The Incredible Hulk and Thor take place the same week as IM2, IM3 is the Christmas of 2012, and GotG Vol 2 will take place only a few months after the first film.

Fury'd know about Cap, Hulk and the original Ant-Man&Wasp, plus SHIELD itself (possibly already including Black Widow and Hawkeye), and possibly the hereditary Black Panther title...I'd say that's enough to constitute a larger universe.

Awesome commentary, but the according to Geezer Butler, Iron Man is an original story. It's about a man who goes forward in time and sees the end of the world, but the time warp turns him into metal. When he comes back and tries to warn people about the coming destruction, they label him a freak and refuse to listen to him. In an outrage, he begins killing and destroying everything in his path, causing the destruction he saw in his vision.

Wouldn't SHIELD be tracking the Hulk already? I think it's okay to presume that Banner became Hulk before this film.

I am kind of impressed how much of the commentary you manage to talk about comics and a lot of stuff which were barely connected to the movie you actually watch....honestly, I would have liked a discussion about the actual movie much better. because, you know, that is kind of what I expected of a commentary.....

They both already did a commentary on this movie couple years back, they talk more about the movie in that commentary.

Am I the only one who feels the MCU films after phase one are too jokey? As jokey as Iron Man is, the tone feels completely different from Avengers.
@subject87938 жыл бұрын
Chewbacca's Lover this is my exact problem with the newer mcu movies
@jman28568 жыл бұрын
The jokey tone in Avengers got so much praise when it first came out and considering that when Disney strikes gold with a formula, they'll usually stick with it as long as it's giving them money in their pockets. Good writing and good directors also help.
@brandonlyon7308 жыл бұрын
It's honestly better then the dark and brodding direction the DC movies are going with the dark bland colors, everything overly serious, and no one having fun. Whenever they attempt a random joke in those movies it never hits the punch since they are so left field and conflict the tone, and only do it because its a superhero movie, even though their trying to contrast Marvel by Dark Knighting every comic property even when they are not dark knight to begin with.
@chewbaccaslover14328 жыл бұрын
I actually don't think the dark tone and lack of jokes are a problem for the DC films, that's not to say they are good movies though.
@chewbaccaslover14328 жыл бұрын
I know a lot of people like the humor, but after Avengers they start to have a lot of out of place jokes that take me out even as I'm laughing at them. I'm not saying those movies are bad, but my enjoyment of them has probably been cut in half.

actually it was stated that tony stark was adopted in marvel comics. so the age of his father is thus not relevant.
@ThePonderer8 жыл бұрын
dvid22 just cause it was in the comics doesn't mean it's true of the films. If anything, the films have done all but outright verbally confirm that Howard is Tony's biological father.

yeah but that was a stupid recent retcon that can easily be changed back.
