Thor: The Dark World, and the dread it brought, put a temporary stop on my Marvel Mania run-through. You guys made it infinitely more enjoyable than I ever thought this movie could be. I may be coming back to this commentary if ever I watch this movie again. lol.

I'm so tired of everyone making "why wasn't Hawkeye acting as crazy as Selvig" criticism. Different people are affected by traumatic events different ways and deal with them differently. Hawkeye is trained SHIELD agent. Selvig is an old man. Hawkeye got closure by helping to take Loki down. Selvig got no such luxuries.

I agree except Selvig ultimately did help take down Loki by engineering the safeguard that stopped tha portal even while under Loki's influence| ALSO It's implied that Selvig had Loki in his head much longer as shown in Thor's end credits+we see him actually step toward Loki when he finally does the spear trick on him in The Avengers| 1 MORE THING We never see Hawkeye even so much as mentioned in any Phase 2 movies until Age of Ultron so there's nothing confirming he didn't react similarly to Selvig|

No, the Inhumans show isn't meant as a lead-up to an Inhumans film. Kevin Feige has said something along the lines of "Well, we have this great show with these great characters. Why wouldn't we at some point bring them into the films?" but there're no plans after that, as far as the public knows.

I do understand why people don't love this movie, but I like it on a visual level the way the Dark Elves look is inspired to me but they don't with them in this movie, the Dark Elves really cool man and they not given anything to do.

Loki is so much in the movie because of Test audience. The Dark World scored only a 30 with them, but what the test audience liked was everything related to Loki. So Marvel pulled in new writers (Marcus and McFeely if I remember correctly...you know, the minds behind the Captain America franchise) in order to fix the movie as much as possible and a number of reshoots happened. In the end, we got an excellent movie about Loki within a terrible movie about Thor, but that is still better than simply getting a terrible movie about Thor.

I don't think this ones bad I think it's decent at best. I'd really recommend checking out the deleted scenes for both Thor films. There are some great character moments that got cut which is a shame because they inform the characters and how they've developed.

I don't understand the hate this movie gets. Is it a grand masterpiece? No, but it has great character interactions, funny jokes, amazing action scenes and important plot points for the larger Cinematic Universe. For a genre that has given us stuff like Howard the Duck, Catwoman, Superman 4 and Fant4stic, it is really hyberpolical to act like that Thor: The Dark World is one of the worst superhero movies of all-time. It isn't even one of the worst in recent memory.

TheWolverine1987 I love this movie as well and don't get the hate. I just wanted to see more Sif so hopefully we can get to see more stuff with her in november. I love what they do with the current Thor in the comics.

I doubt anyone's calling it one of or even close to the worst. There's nothing inherently wrong with Thor: the Dark World. It's just mediocre and easily the most forgettable of the MCU films. As much as Iron Man 2 was a commercial for The Avengers, there's a lot of fun to be had in that film. Less so for this one. Besides, all of the MCU films have character interactions, jokes, action scenes, and plot points...that doesn't make The Dark World unique at all.

I don't think that it is bad, but I also think if you would take Loki out of it, the result would have been a terrible movie. It is this one element, this one solid storyline which rescues the whole thing...that and a fairly creative end-fight.

I have seen people acting like this is one of the worst. In tons of videos, comment sections and reviews, The Dark World has kinda become a "punchline movie", i.e. movie like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull or Batman & Robin where you only need to mention the name of the movie without going into any detail and the audience is supposed to know that the movie in question is awful.

Yeah, this is actually my favorite film of Phase 2. I don't get the hate for this or IM 2. It's pretty much the mindset these days that if a film isn't a 5 star masterpiece, it must be garbage. Go figure.

Constantly debating with my friend over which is worse, this or Iron Man 2. Eod the argument boils down to "would you rather be bored or irritated?" I would rather be irritated so I usually choose IM2 lol.

Please please do another round of SW commentaries but with Eric! That would be awesome!! I am so with Eric on this. I am tired of them adding little bits to what has already been perfected and is fine. I want totally different stories that branch out more, stuff like new wars that don't revolve around the Empire and are not just X-wings and Ties again. I want some expansion on that stuff. I am just tired of the OT right now. At least use the 10 year gap between ep 1 and 2 and the 30 years gap between 6 and 7 more. Thus far we have shackled stories set 3 years before 7 and shackled stories set a year after 6. That is frustrating. We don't need two ongoings set in the post anh pre empire stuff. We have some stuff like the Aphra comic that is fine and is adding actual new lore as opposed to small bits here and there to the OT. The main SW book has the Yoda arc but even that is in a vacuum. I just need something 100% crazy like TOTJ or else things feel a bit stale. So yeah once again #EricIsMySpiritAnimal

I don't get the hate for this movie. I loved it in theater. Yeah the side characters are annoying but they don't take up all the film. I loved Loki and Thor's relationship in this.
