Marvel Meets the MCU - Phase 1 Characters (OFFICIAL Compilation)

Hello! I made this series a few years ago on TikTok. The idea was to show Marvel comic characters meeting their MCU counterparts. This is a collection of characters who premiered (beyond just a cameo) in Phase 1.
Now, a few notes:
1. I know not all of the jokes hold up anymore. That's okay, a LOT of movies have come out since haha
2. "616" was the term used to refer to the main comic continuity. It is literally the only concise way to state which specific lore I am referencing. I cannot help that the MCU decided to co-opt the number and make these videos more confusing after-the-fact. They did not ask me for counsel.

Well, the thing about Hulk coming back from space exile in World War Hulk; he didn’t really kill anyone that much, in fact, he allowed a group of human followers wearing green to talk on stage to tell the Illuminati all of the horrible stuff they did, including one of Goliath’s relatives. The only one that wasn’t there being roasted was Namor who didn’t want to go through sending the Hulk into space(that or he quit somewhere along the line, I dunno). Finally, just to put more salt on the wound for MCU Hulk; Joe Fixit has put in a lot more work despite being the weakest persona(even compared to SSJ3; no eyebrows LMAO), he was still holding his own against stronger opponents in board daylight(his weakness), I’m pretty sure one of the reasons he got teleported away from the Evolutionary war was because the High Evolutionary knew he would rather deal with an amped Hercules than an amped Hulk. Hulk was HIM, no matter what skin color he is; he’s an equal opportunity destroyer.

Yeah, Namor was the sole nay vote. He hadn't quit yet. Black Bolt, Richards, Stark, and Strange voted in favor, and Professor X wasn't present but later told Hulk he would've only agreed to send him away temporarily not permanently, and he would've regretted even that.

Okay, so I haven't really been into comics lore since 2014ish when the MCU started bleeding into stuff and things just started getting more convoluted in general, but I noticed a discrepancy in both the IRS compilation and this one, and I just wanted to clear it up. Hulk and Bruce Banner are my favorite fictional character of all time. My terrible bio dad introduced me to him starting with the old TV show, and I connected with the character to the point of seeing him as a father figure stand in. I couldn't afford or find most comics, so I watched all the media I could with him, repeatedly read his wiki page and synopses on his history from comic information sites, and read any graphic novels I could find while hanging out at the library or Barnes & Noble. When I figured out how to find comics online, I even tried to read every comic he'd ever appeared in (which I plan on continuing eventually), but Golden Age writing can be very painful to get through and the issue in the 80s people suggested starting with instead was disorientingly mid story-arc. In general, though, I pride myself on the pretty detailed knowledge I have on Hulk's history until more recent years despite not reading as many of his comics as I would've liked, and I also deeply hate characters who have hurt and betrayed him. The most hatred is extended towards one Tony Stark, whose death basically made me lose the little remaining interest I had in the MCU, because even if they screwed up Civil War and butchered Hulk and Banner's character into little more than a joke and/or bland generic side character in every appearance after the first Avengers movie, I had been holding onto the hope that at least when Stark formed the Illuminati, people might finally lose any misplaced love for him. As you can see, my love for Hulk is rather extreme and strongly influences how I feel about other characters. It's the reason I hate Tony Stark and the majority of the original Illuminati so much. I say majority, because I highly respect Namor for being the one vote against sending Hulk into space despite repeatedly serving as an antagonist for him since the golden age, while Richards and Stark, who were supposedly his friends, and Strange, who was said to have even been like a father figure to him, were fine upending the life of a man who constantly tried to isolate himself anyway until the military found him and started drama, people like his supposed friends dragged him back into duty when they needed him, or other incidents where people instigated violence against him. Even more than Namor though, I respect that T'Challa actually refused his invitation to the Illuminati to begin with. I was so shocked to hear his name associated with the organization in the IRS compilation, and while I unfortunately discovered that he has, in fact, been a member more recently (which I feel is probably just bad writing), I can at least confirm that unlike both videos have insinuated, he was not involved in the Illuminati for the original Planet Hulk and World War Hulk storylines. Not trying to diss Nikhil (I love his content), but T'Challa very much rejected Stark's "Friends" in High Places Club invitation and therefore, wasn't involved in that vote. Also, yes, it was definitely a power thing. Tony can say it was a collective of the most intelligent people all he likes, but there were many incredibly intelligent heroes, like Banner and Pym, who weren't invited, and everyone who was led or had the most power in some sort of faction. Completely unrelated, it would also be interesting to see a follow-up between the Hanks regarding the whole Yellowjacket thing, since 616 Pym actually became Yellowjacket when his alter was steering the wheel, and he might find it pretty wild that the only Yellowjacket people know in the MCU apparently became MODOK??

Hulk needs trilogy so bad Bruce Banner and Betty were in love when he transformed into the Hulk, and his years of rampages threw a wrench into their relationship. There were many ups and downs, but eventually, Bruce controlled the Hulk. This let him and Betty get married. They had years of happiness together during the Professor Hulk era, but then tragedy struck. Betty found out that her years of being around the Hulk had led to her getting gamma radiation poisoning. This was exacerbated when Abomination gave Betty a transfusion of his own gamma-irradiated blood. Bruce and Betty then endured years of heartache, and her death put an end to one of the few happy times in their lives.
