@@ham5463 Hmm, recently younger kids have been talking about Eggy Party and Roblox. There is definitely a language barrier for some games like Fortnight, a lot of kids here play Freefire instead because it's Chinese language and on mobile. King of Fighters was big back in the day in Taiwan, I think there is a mobile game for it nowadays.

I have a chinese coworker who plays a lot of chinese games. I'm always surprised by the fact that I've never even heard of 80% of what she's talking about. And these are high budget quality titles. There's a huge chinese gaming scene that westerners just seem to have no idea about.

Yup, I've heard so in the past. Their games never really made it outside the country, and they mostly where for PC since they didn't go for consoles due to political issues with most consoles being made in Japan... but translating and selling their PC games were also a hassle, and so a whole culture of games grew up centered around China and it's south-eastern neighbours that west AND Japan knows nothing about and that's kind of kept going on, with their PC and mobile titles staying in that region until lately.

I remember a GamesTrailers circa 2010 where a Chicago game company was working on a Marvel multiplayer battle game. I think it was EA, but not sure. The game looked really cool and allowed for environmental distraction with one of the maps shown being Chicago. I was bummed when that game never came out.

Ghost of Tsushima is practically a movie already so I think it’ll translate well, especially since PS Productions seems to be on a roll. I seriously doubt he worked for "weeks". It was probably a back and forth that maybe lasted for weeks in terms of overall time. It also sounds like whoever was in charge of the art test hasn't really given any in the past (or don't know what they want out of it). Also unpaid work tests is nothing new, which is why the more common sensible thing is to have short ones (2-3 expected time on them) or said person gets paid. People need to stop taking everything people type on twitter as gospel.

There's no meaning, it's just a sound effect that Kyle uses to enhance a clip or joke he writes while editing the videos. If you watched the episode in which he introduced it, he explains that he just wanted something new to replace the tired Shrek jokes he used to do.

Duke Nukem has the weirdest legacy. The character sucks, and has always kinda sucked, but 3D was legendary, and the leaked 2001 build showed us a future for FPS games which never came. It feels like we're living in the dark AU where the series never truly self-actualized.
